Not if you ask the theists who post in RGT. According to them, it takes more faith to be an atheist than it does to be a theist.

Although maybe you meant it's easier to offend theists by attacking their beliefs than it is to offend atheists, in which case I completely agree. Theists already have to constantly reaffirm their faith and they can be quite fragile at times (not all of them ldo).

Never going to read rgt but from this thread I'm pretty sure most if it sucks, and I know for a fact rizeagainst sucks

Rize's banning was inevitable (not sure if its a temp or a perma).

His content was often spot-on but his delivery was always just so hostile that it distracted.

I hope he'll be back but maybe take the edge off! This doesn't have to be a war. We're all here for interesting discussion and there's no reason for it to be so personal and nasty all the time!

Exactly. Funny thing is that he was told exactly that by several people and he chose to ignore everyone saying exactly that (that he had points, but he was being belligerent in his writing)

Thread's too long. Are you claiming that Jib's modding has killed the forum or that your ban has killed the forum or something else?

Pretty obvious that neither helped the sub-forum. To what exact extent they hurt, we will obviously never know.

You leaving certainly helped. This is a good summary of why:

Jib was good because we needed a mod who would be around to get rid of the really stupid and annoying stuff. The forum was doing fine at least until all of 2+2 went down, which slowed down everything. Maybe it seemed dead to you because no one was making an angry mess, but I was pleased.

It's probably just my imagination that it's dead though...or the fault of hackers..................

1) The site as a whole is doing less traffic now.
2) People move on and forums change. Can you not name pre-Jib RGT regs that don't hang out there anymore?

I've pretty much left RGT because the discussions have gone stale. Seems there's only so many topics to discuss there, and getting rid of Jib or letting you back won't change that.

so we are aggressively agreeing then? it's not the hackers. the discussions are worthless. there may have been "angry messes" in the past, but they were almost always paralleled by provocative debates. in exchange for aggressive provocative debate, the forum now is provocative as watching paint dry. the traffic of the forum overall bears this out.

i don't believe it's a coincidence that all of the posters worth reading stopped posting in the following months after this thread. they were all going strong for years previous to that.

yes, forums and forum members change. this one clearly for the worse, both for the posters and for 2+2 itself.

No, it's that any given poster can only stay there for so long before they've seen it all, then new posters come in and enjoy the place. I don't think Jib modding or you leaving killed worthwhile and interesting discussions.

There are and have always been good debates that are without all the anger that you brought. I think the forum is far better off with more civil people. It probably doesn't appeal to you, but you and RGT never seemed to get along anyway.

Volume of posts should not be conflated with quality of posts. I think the signal to noise ratio has been up in the last several months. This looks/feels more like a lull in the conversation than anything else. If nobody has anything good or interesting to say, I don't think it does any harm for there to be relative silence.

I love how he bans bible quotes in the RGT quote thread when people show contradictions. Theocratic neo-fascism at its finest.

It doesn't really matter though. Site mods seem content to let this fish out of water flop around until its death. So be it.
