By the way, Jib has a long history of practicing avoidance. Any objective RGT poster can tell you that. Reread this thread if you want to know more. This situation is just another check mark on the list.

I also feel Mat has already practiced avoidance before this newest update ITT. He evaluated the first complaint ITT, personally found it to be of no merit, and then subsequently decided that all the other complaints ITT must have been the same. That is avoidance and that is terrible leadership, completely separate from his avoidance of this latest thread update.

So once again, the people who post in RGT have a much broader context of what's going on here. You know very little, but pretend to have the same knowledge of the situation that tpir, Lok, Hopey, and I do. That's shameful and ignorant. You are defending these people with very little understanding of the full context of what has gone on, merely because you reside in some electronic fraternity with them.

I have seen the thread and have not responded because I don't see what it is you want me to respond to. You think I suck at modding, great what else is new. This thread was created to get me demodded, Mat looked into it and made the decision that things are fine and no action would be taken. You basically bumped the thread to say that you still think I suck. So what?

Mat looked into the first issue that sparked the creation of this thread, didn't find it to be a big deal, and then ignored everything else everyone said. Congratulations if you think that's a win for you.

First, I think the "Are athiests delusional" thread was saved by RLK's comment and Glaskowal's response to it.

Second "delusion" and "mental disorder" are not equivalent. "Mental disorder" is much more pejorative. It implies a physical defect of mind while "delusion" implies an error in thinking.

I don't recall reading/ participating in the "mental disorder" thread but the "delusion" thread did touch on a wide variety of topics. A moderator of another forum who doesn't often post in RGT also made posts in the "delusion" thread. To call the delusion thread unproductive or uninteresting simply isn't true. Perhaps it wasn't always the most civil but there was a definetly a meaningful discussion happening in that thread.

I still had a couple of responses to make but now the thread has been locked....which seems a bit premature to me.

And that wasn't the point. The other thread didn't get the same chance to be 'saved' by people's comments.

RLK's comment came in on post 10, about 1 hour after the thread started. Perhaps if Jib had seen the thread at post 5, 35 minutes after creation he would have locked it. I don't know. However by post 11 you had some had some meaningful discussion(complete degens response). I don't think there is a big difference between 4 and 11 posts or 35 minutes and 1 hour. I can see Jib thinking the thread had gained some traction and if nobody is complaining about it(the title especially) then he might as well let it slide.

So now you're playing guessing games (assuming Jib didn't see it within the hour, or it wasn't reported, or that as long as there's a meaningful post then the thread is A-OK) as to why a thread with a pejorative title directed against atheists was allowed to continue on (without even pulling out the relevant/meaningful discussion or changing the title) and a thread insulting religious people was locked almost instantly. Well, I have a better guess as to why...

BTW, are you seriously arguing that one could post utter crap (I assume those broad-brushed attacks aren't allowed, either site-wide or specifically RGT) and as long as within an hour or 10 replies (or both) there is meaningful content, it's OK? If so, should be interesting--maybe once rize gets back.
