It's intentionally not answered, and may or may not vary user-to-user. I wouldn't try working around it, we sometimes notice things like people running up post counts.

There are people who come here looking to spam PM boxes, or hope to jump right in to trade money or whatever else on day 1. Besides some being spammers and scammers, others haven't had time to figure out the site or the various rules. It's one way to slow things down a little bit.

So welcome to 2p2. I'm Gonso and among the top 5 or 6 mods most likely to catch you at whatever you're going to do.

I am calling your bluff on the second. I just need some diabolical scheme. I am paging the rart dirt, bayareabeast,tbab returns, grimstar, and that guy who said he would trade money with people and then gambled it away and then slowly gave it back to his victims but only partially, but I always forget his name.

What bluff? I have no idea what this paragraph is supposed to mean. Are you suggesting that I'm saying we expect to prevent every problem? Because I didn't say that (and sure as hell don't think it). A couple of those guys have little to do with my area of 2+2 anyway.

Being serious: yes, we know most new posters are honest, even the ones looking for a trade right away. The PM thing is more of a speed bump than an actual deterrent is all, and more for spammers. In the mod forum we used to save screenshots of accounts we nuked with 0 posts and list the number of PMs sent, some were hundreds.

As far as long time reader, there's really nothing we can take into consideration there.

The old 90-posts-in-two-days trick didn't work?

At least you posted whole sentences and phrases. Had a guy today who did 70 posts in two hours flat, using about 120 words, and he was blowing through them so fast you couldn't even make out what some of the words were supposed to be.
