Well, we don't actually disagree all that much.
If we had advertisers that said they're going to pull all of their ads if we don't do 'X', there are times we would do 'X', and there are times when we'd tell them we couldn't. I think we'd weigh each decision independently, and it would depend on how reasonable that request is.
What I can say for sure is that I have, numerous times, had advertisers that I thought might face some controversy here, and I've made it very clear to them before we go any further that we don't delete reasonable criticism just because they don't like it.
So yes, there are times (like the 4L situation you described) when advertisers' concerns have taken precedence over what the posters wanted (although that's the only time I can remember). But there are also many times when the opposite happens, which is why I objected to your blanket statement.
