spam is the only creature on the entire internet that can actually get under my skin. it is the sole motivating factor for me wanting to mod. just to be able to personally stomp it the hell out.

Lirva is like, the sole reason I don't post in politics more often.

DBJ is pretty awful at times too. Steelhouse is entertaining more than annoying.

It's the cheap gotchas and crapulent one liners that I can't stand. LirvA is awesome, at least he has the balls to take a position and defend it.

I have never reported a post. I sleep naked, so my jimmies remain unrustled.

When it comes to modding Politics, we made the call years ago that insults tend to beget more insults, ruining threads in a hurry, so they are out. Nitty post reports from those butthurt or simply those trying to get their opponent a night off from the forum doesn't ruin threads, only my inbox. Not too bad, imo.

I don't think naming names would be appropriate. However, I believe it has been fairly well established that posting pictures of nameless pussies improves every thread, regardless of topic.

The problem with the forum is it attracts the wrong kind of people. Politics to me is debate about what's right or what's wrong. What I see in that forum (and often with people into politics) is "this is right, this is wrong, if you disagree then FEEL MY RAGE".

I learned more about a variety of things in a few months preceding the US Presidential elections than at any other time or place on 2+2. Had some of the best lols too.

Anywhere on the internet I've seen - politics is arguing mostly. Still, can't wait to do it again in 3 years.

I on occasion post in politics and read it infrequently, but I do report scores of posts on a daily basis.

I feel it is my duty to cleanse the forum of ideas I disagree with...

Plus it is silly to report posts in BBV4L or NVG or even OOT.

This is exactly wrong. It attracts the right people and keeps them out of other forums.

The purpose of the forum is not encourage debate. Therefore, the result is going to be often unpleasant.
