Saying now that jman was a part of the issue by demanding new different mods after he busted his ass immediately following mason’s demands is not a good look imo.

Mat -- do you think that the moderation changes in politics had any effect? IMO they very clearly did have a positive effect. If you think further changes were necessary then why not talk to the members and moderators of the forum rather than just closing it abruptly and without warning? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

There should have been a warning on the politics forum about this toxicity and there should be a forum for people who don't suspect evil motives of those who disagree with them or ban people for accusing or insinuating such motives.

I hate the politics forum. I hate today's politics in general. I want it out of my sight and control. I don't want anyone pointing it out to me and asking me to do something about it. Turns out I have some control over that not wanting.

There is a good solution. In ATF, there is a link to a different site made by our 2+2 politics posters. We have no control over there. And all of them are more than welcome to post in any of our other fine forums over here.

I see this as an argument with a solution, not a breakup.

The most amusing part of your use of this word is that all of this happened because you just can't leave it alone.

Since Mat's whole thing in shutting the forum down is that he doesn't want to deal with it, several mods asked him, in short: "why don't you leave it be?" Mat doesn't have to deal with it. He doesn't have to read it, or give a **** what goes on in there. Mat has not responded to any of those posts (neither here nor in the mod forum).

Mat still chose, voluntarily, to go reading Politics last night and to get more pissed off at a post insulting Sarah Huckabee Sanders than he's ever been about anything posted in Politics before. He chose to nuke the forum in response and write a bunch of posts about how great it felt to do that, which is totally something you write about something you're not obsessed over.
