My views on this issue have been evolving. On one hand, i talk to a lot of people from kansas whose views on lgbt issues are so backwards that it makes me think we need to continue to have these conversations out in the open to educate people. Like part of me thinks that once trump got elected it proves there are so many xenophobic, sexist, racist, and homophobic people that the world could literally be in trouble. So we need honest conversations. I follow the at right, they are growing aorn.

On the other hand at some point you have to have restrictions on what is and isnt being discussed no matter how open minded you are. like if the situation deteriorates enough then at some point you just kind of have to fight to win.

the other thing i would say is that lots of people say really stupid **** from time to time. and in my opinion whats important is intent. Like if you judged me by the dumbest things ive ever said I would be inhuman. To me paul D is terrible and should be banned immediately and wil is ok. because at least wil is trying to articulate things he thinks.

The way you worded it, I can certainly see how someone would take it that way. I'm actually not 100% certain what you meant, but if I had to guess I'd say you meant that if 100 million people believe something crazy, it needs open discussion so they can be convinced it's crazy.

Nothing wrong with using imperfect language; we're all guilty of doing so at times. But when you do so, it seems pretty unreasonable to call out others for their reading comprehension when they don't understand the point as you intended them to. Much like it seems to be unreasonable to tell someone they "don't actually know anything about oppression", unless you know them much, much better than I'd assume you know your fellow posters.

The problem with the forum is not that it's full of liberals ; it's full of a particular type of liberal who knows nothing about the issues except when it comes to making fun of racists , who they themselves are bigoted and misogynistic. I'm really annoyed by everyone telling me how to think about issues they themselves havent actually ever thought about and in the case of lgbt issues ever experienced. Yesterday I pointed out that posts in P disparaging TRUMP's 11 year old son was classless. My post got a response regarding some comment that Rush Limbaugh made about Chelsea Clinton when she was 12 which is like 24 or 25 years ago. I responded that two wrongs don't make a right. Then I wad attacked by two posters as being a hypocrite basically. Going hard to the paint to justify disparaging TRUMPs 11 year old. Just an example of the level of discourse that TwoPlusTwo is ENABLING.

No it wasn't, 2+2 doesn't build platforms, they publish bill boards where people can say whatever they like. Polite content, ****ty content, whatever content they like. 2+2 has loosely enforced content restrictions and some billboards are taken down, but the rest of them are visible to the world and they all have a big frame around them saying "Brought to you by 2+2, we also have books!" The idea that you can separate 2+2 from their content is not true. Witness the problems Reddit had after the fappening when all the awful Reddits were discovered. Very few individual redditors were called out about the content but Reddit almost folded.
