The way you worded it, I can certainly see how someone would take it that way. I'm actually not 100% certain what you meant, but if I had to guess I'd say you meant that if 100 million people believe something crazy, it needs open discussion so they can be convinced it's crazy.
Nothing wrong with using imperfect language; we're all guilty of doing so at times. But when you do so, it seems pretty unreasonable to call out others for their reading comprehension when they don't understand the point as you intended them to. Much like it seems to be unreasonable to tell someone they "don't actually know anything about oppression", unless you know them much, much better than I'd assume you know your fellow posters.
