Permanent ban in Politics required Permanent ban in Politics required

I'm unsure of what all this means, but MrWookie has said I'm no longer welcome to post in Politics, but for some reason I can still post there. He has then said if I post in Politics one more time, I will be perma-banned. I have no idea if that means I'm perma-banned from Politics only, or site-wide banned. I asked MrWookie to perma-ban me from Politics and simply be done with it, but his reply was "I can't do that".

So, I need clarification on where I am right now. Is his statement of "You are no longer welcome to post in Politics" a personal request, in which my reply is to go pound sand, or is it an actual warning that if I post again I'll be 1) perma-banned from Politics, or 2) perma-banned from the entire site, all forums included?

He's such an inept mod that he can't even do his job correctly and ban me himself. So I request that someone define and help him in whatever the **** he is trying to achieve with in regards to me.

Just to define my position : I will do what is needed to avoid being banned from the rest of the forums (sports, betting, etc). If I need to be perma-banned from Politics to achieve that, so be it.

you should try pm'ing MrWookie imo, or you could just not post in politics anymore and you'll be sure you won't be permabanned

Or it could be that only an admin has the ability to change your account so that you aren't physically able to post in Politics any longer. That feature is rarely used, as usually when people are informed they aren't welcome in a forum, they stop posting there.

I don't know how the exchange between you went, so perhaps it wasn't as clear as it should have been, but from what you've described, it seems pretty obvious that you will be banned if you post in Politics again. Now when you add in my explanation above, you know he can only ban you from 2+2 as a whole, so that's what you should expect if you post in Politics again.

If you need to be rendered incapable of posting in that forum with this account, Mat Sklansky may be able to help you - send him a PM.

This is what I wish, since MrWookie is totally inept in his capacity as a moderator.

Mat, can I get a request here?

Edit : Mat said specifically that the infractions from Politics are warnings, and he doesn't care either way. So, in the end, we need an answer from Mat himself.

I'm subscribed to dozens of threads in Politics, and I don't want to post by accident in that forum. So, I'm requesting some sort of final request.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable to have this issue resolved once and for all.

We don't need any kind of answer for anything here, and this wouldn't be the thread for it if you did.

If you want to be software-excluded from Politics, send a PM to Mat. If you for some reason need further clarification as to your status in Politics, send a PM to Wookie. If you don't believe that Wookie has the say on whether you aren't allowed in Politics (he does), you can send a PM to Mat.

Banning people from politics who are still welcome elsewhere (particularly Politics Unchained) may be common enough to make it a simple request by wookie to an admin even if he cant do it himself. Even better if you give him the power to do it himself.

It's all very well saying that someone should just refrain from positing in P but if they are P and PU regulars it's too easy a mistake to make.

OP, your new home is Politics Unchained.

Glad to help.

Edit: chezlaw's simultaneous post made my reply look not so catchy.

You can make the effort to unsubscribe from them.

Still makes a lot of sense for wookie to have a way to ban people from P rather than mess about with 'post once more in my forum and you're out of 2+2'.
