I know, which is why I’ve abandoned plans of having a wife and kids cause I don’t want my children to have live with the stigma of a mentally ill parent and I think woman who make a good mother to my children will be scared off by my history, when my own family is kids is all I ever wanted in life. I guess I’ll be a lucky victim instead of a respected hero and a crazy cat lady instead of a father and husband.

But, just because I’m diagnosed as schizo affective, that doesn’t me I can’t be a capable intelligent person who remembers the past accurately and is self aware. I’m very high functioning. Mentally ill people aren’t worthless, they just have a form of emotional instability and mental problems that has resulted from traumas and addictions in their past.

To be honest 27 has been decent to you at times. You really like to stir the pot and you can me extremely rude and difficult at times. OOT is often irreverent and people sometimes like to have a bit of fun. Given this, they also give back what they get and if you're going to post crap in there you're going to get it right back at you.

The mods in OOT have given you a long leash for better or for worse. If you posted the way you do in OOT in most other forums around here you would have likely been banned long ago. If that's what you want let me know and I'll grant your wish. This may not be the place for you and I wish you the best in dealing with your issues.

When you feel like posting poorly, don't do that. Do something else instead.

As far as stigma goes, don't worry about that too much. No one cares what you did a year ago. What you did 3 minutes ago is where the problem lies. For instance, acting like a weirdo here isn't something in the distant past. That was yesterday and today. Hardly counts as stigma when you act like a jerk and people treat you, in return, like a jerk.

Having a reason (mental illness) for acting like a jerk doesn't mean that people shouldn't treat you like a jerk when you act like a jerk. A bad singer with auditory problems is a bad singer, and no one ought buy their album and their friends ought tell him/her to stop singing where people can hear.

As an intelligent, high-functioning individual, you ought know that. Go with what you are good at. Maybe try carpentry or something.

Yeah not a big deal that everyone will automatically assume me and everything I say is “unreliable” when they learn of my diagnoses and that I’m somebody to be pitied but not to close to or make a part of their life unless they can use them in some way

My chosen profession is unfortunately acting as my own lawyer, but fortunately I think I got some damn good cases that are very incriminating for my accusers on the facts of the situations.
