Been having trouble not just on mobile but on desktop too.

There's always an ad on the bottom of the browser, when you click the X it collapses into the bottom of the browser but will come back when you move to another page within 2p2.

I'm also seeing ads in between posts (every 3 or 4 replies.)

Neither of these are happening on any other website I visit.

I am getting all sorts of distracting spam popping up at the bottom of the screen and with in threads in between posts. This is on desktop. This nonsense just started today. Actually thought it may be some kind of virus and started a scan but then pulled up 2+2 on a different computer and the same thing!

This HAS TO GO! Put all the side column ads you want but these are super annoying and distracting. This is enough to keep me away from 2+2 after 15+ years of daily browsing. This is gonna lose you more than it gets you!!!!!!!!!

Yes, they are new ads; this was news to me as well.

They've already been tweaked some, so they don't appear as often. Give it a few days before freaking out too much, as I think more adjustments could happen, and any feedback on improvements is welcome.

And I expect some of that feedback will be to get them the **** off the site. Just keep in mind that at the end of the day, the bills have to be paid, so sometimes different things will be tried.

Yep, I saw these ads as well and was wondering if I had gotten some adware. Good to know it is from twoplustwo and not something worse.

Every new search or thread I am getting pop up adds its really annoying, Im on landline. Also get the messange that this webiste uses cookies to enhance your best exerience and relevant advertisements while visiting, not!

I don't want to clear history or cache , have too many passwords gitting fun stuff for teens in ct , foxwoods ads for families etc etc

This is really obnoxious and if it isn't fixed soon I'll just stop using this forum. I understand bills need to be paid but this is ridiculous at this point. As a matter of principle I dont use sites where they use shady browser jacking adverts to subsidize the site. So please fix this dumpster fire of an advert situation asap

I am waiting patiently for the problem to be addressed and am encouraged that a reasonable solution will be found soon. I say you guys charge a penny a post and the ad thing is yesterday's news because people just can't help themselves.

and which ad locations, specifically, are problematic? side, bottom or other?
the pop up on the bottom has been tuned way down from what i experience.

the static on the side has never bothered me, and the occasional ad in the middle of a thread doesn't seem very distracting to me either.

but, getting more specific complaints will help us tweak this properly. i'm guessing this is most disruptive on phones/tablets?

I had a reply yesterday that had quoted someone describing issues on a desktop. Am guessing it got deleted since it wasn't talking about a mobile device, but nobody ever says WHY something gets deleted.

I had tried to provide the datapoint that it was NOT occurring on a desktop that was running Windows7 Professional, with the viewing being done in Firefox and with an ********* in use.

Looking at the ********* for the page this reply is being made on, it shows there are/were nine items that have been blocked.

Cannot speak to phone or tablet since I don't view the site from either of those options...

On edit...cannot help but to laugh at the blocker being a blocked term.

I will check this evening whether the ads appear on an Apple (desktop) when not logged in.

it's the whole ad block thing as far as the deletions and censor. i don't think it really matters. people will block ads if they want.

that policy goes back to a time when not everyone realized it was an option.

the ads are supposed to be a bit of a win-win, so any feedback we get here is useful and we'll adjust.

The ads that pop-up on the bottom are the most annoying/intrusive to me (talking about desktop viewing here). The ones in the middle don't bother me that much, but sometimes I think I have reached the end only to see there are more posts below the ad -- I know to keep scrolling now but this could cause people to miss posts thinking they have reached the end of a thread.

Any plans to offer a subscription to go ad-free? I'd probably be willing to pay an annual fee to have ad-free browsing if it was reasonably priced, I'm not sure how popular that would be with others, but that would be optional anyways.

It is happening for me on a PC. The ads that pop up on the bottom are the most annoying. Extremely annoying! I really dislike the ones between replies too but they aren't as tilting as the bottom popups but annoying none the less. The ones that have always been on the top, left and right have never bothered me and don't offer the frustration distraction that these new ones do.

i'm with you (from a user perspective) on the bottom pop up, but that's all but disappeared for me. we told them to dial that way back. is it still happening a lot?
