Mod Dinesh did a terrible job moderating a thread I created in the casino and card room poker forum “hahaha all in? Muck.” He needs to be reminded that personal attacks are no longer permitted on this site.

I was done posting in this thread for what should be obvious reasons, but I’ll say a few more things given the mod’s post above.

dinesh- You should have made this call several posts ago and deleted the offending content. It’s not right for someone to create an interesting thread on this site and get insulted and character assassinated with unfounded accusations from total strangers in the process. Worse yet, you backed some of them up by saying ”my history” was relevant to the discussion.

This is also why this site is losing so many of its contributors, including me. In addition to the Omaha strat forum, I am done contributing to this forum. This is a loss to the site on many levels given my history of new and discussion-engendering content, but for me it’s the right move. I’m tired of being bullied here. I will not be a punching bag anymore for a bunch of anonymous keyboard warriors who suffer no consequences.

Please don’t take this as me caring too much about what anyone here thinks about me. But the attacks do take a slight emotional toll that makes posting much less appealing.

It’s pretty paradoxical, you reach a level of success some only dream of and get very little if any respect for it, on a poker strategy site no less. To me that’s a poor reflection of where this community’s priorities lie. We should be suporting each other, not tearing each other down, and looking up to those who have reached a very high level of play. Learning from each other’s occasional goofy mistakes but being understanding. The comments here could have been much more constructive but they took an ugly turn.

I hope my departure here sends a message to the community and mods and makes the site better in the long run. Thanks to everyone who posted well-meaning responses here and in the past.

Telling you that you are wrong about something is not a personal attack.

He posts a thread looking for sympathy but when literally everyone says he was in the wrong he cries about being personally attacked, tries to get the thread removed and then creates a new thread to complain to the managers “the mod did a terrible job”. Based on his post history this is what people at his regular poker room have to deal with everyday.

There have been zero post reports related to the thread. All the posts remain, aside from one immediately before dinesh's, that he deleted 45 minutes after it was made with the reason of "personal attack".

OP also cross-posted this in the Politics "Moderation Questions and General Chat Thread", but that post has since been deleted by a Politics moderator with the reason of "wrong forum".

I'm not sure if this was meant to be in reply to me, but if it was, I said nothing about whether there were any personal attacks remaining; I was simply providing information in that post, without judgement.

And to provide some clarity for others, because OP has cut-and-pasted that post, it might appear that the post was made by brianr, but it was actually a reply to brianr by steamraise.

That said, I think you've pulled out the worst post remaining, that says you are a pain in the ass. I don't know if there's another post one could call a personal attack; if there is, it would be pretty borderline. So because dinesh asked people to stop attacking you, and deleted the worst personal attack but not one that called you a "pain in the ass", you've seen fit to post your OP in that thread, again in a Politics Moderation thread, and then again in a thread calling out dinesh here, and are leaving the site? That's, um, quite the reaction.

My accidental post in the politics moderation thread was a mistake. I just saw the word “moderation” and thought that was the right thread. I was pretty upset and posted a little too hastily.

I don’t think my response was an overreaction by any means. The mod didn’t stop the attacks and put downs soon enough, left at least one up, and then defended the content by saying “my history” (of what? he doesn’t say) was relevant to the discussion, implying the posts were warranted which was why he didn’t delete all of them or put a stop to them sooner. How do you think that makes me feel as the poster when the mod implies the put downs are justified?

Anyway I’ve said enough and made my point, and I’m done posting in the casino and card room forum and will only be posting in my pb&g thread where I can ban the trolls and have reliable mods to help with that.

Also this decision has been a long time coming and this was simply the final straw for me after countless threads like this one where they just turn into relentless trolls attacking me. So don’t think I am acting rashly, because I am not. And I sure am not the only one on this site who is exhausted of having to deal with these personal attacks every time we try to start a discussion. Llorton is one of the worst habitual offenders in my threads and he hasn’t been banned somehow. Kokothemonkey agrees with me about this whole problem on this site if you read the OP I started. He rarely posts anymore either.

Fair enough, I'm not going to argue with you about it. You feel how you feel, as we all do. Best of luck in the other forums here.

Of course, dumbo trunk calling the person that called the floor a "total asshat" in his prior post is perfectly acceptable.
