Some broad topics: instrument valuation, advice, creation, uniques; theory beginners-advanced; creation (in my opinion the most valuable and unique topic), sharing; electronics, sampling; collaboration - networking, theory; business, economics, touring; teaching - all topics except solicitation; q&a for beginners

Lower content - apps, products; stories, travel, locales; help me ___; literature, guides

Low content - all music discussion.

Lowest content - watch me play a Stratocaster on my youtube channel

There are too many inquisitive musical minds and experienced people to not bring them together in one forum. It's an academic discipline, hobby, art, influential, and something that unites people.

It would be an amazing addition to the 2p2 forums.

Please add to this op.

You probably blew your case when you expanded it beyond music making to just music discussion. It's been ruled repeatedly that music isn't going to be separated from the community forums.

Would be a sweet idea, since 2p2 has almost everything else covered. I know there has to be loads of start up musicians that would love a place to chat, talk about beat ideas, and general art of music making.

I don't imagine many musicians browse ATF as it's generally _____ and doesn't _______ mostly ever. Mostly because musicians don't waste their time on anything besides being awesome and collaborating with unique people.

Don't be fooled. We usually we sit around arguing about things like how much pickup covers or nitrocellulose finishes affect tone. Or try to figure out why something in Reaper or Pro Tools isn't working right. We just do it on other forums.

Personally I like BBV photoshop threads better.

Great!

Solid state amps are ****ing HORRIBLE! Even the ****ing hybrid ones. I've NEVER heard one that doesn't sound like boxy ass ****, and good luck trying to run a fuzz face through one!

Ugh, and those ones with digital effects and amp modeling. Sounds just like a Vox AC30! Sounds just like a 59 plexi! You know what? No it ****ing doesn't, and you know it, ya bastids. You know what does sound like an AC30? A ****ING AC30! You know what does sound like a 59 plexi? A ****ING 59 PLEXI! So don't give me this bull**** fake ass imitiation crap, you puppy stealing heartless wenches.

Modeling has come a long way, but not quite that long a way. They need to get rid of some of that fizz.

Still, you could sucker most crowds with it anymore, running into the PA. Except for the lonely guy sitting there with his arms crossed overanalyzing everything you play. You know, the guy with the Rush shirt on, who wants to know if you guys play any Dream Theater. I've got a LP hanging down to my knees and just got done It's So Easy and a Tool song before that, and the guy singing can't hit a middle C. What about us makes you even ask some dumb thing like that?

This is before he goes back to his Mom's basement to butcher some Mr. Big song on his $250 Ibby. Complete with his ice-picky scooped sound that guys get used to when they've never actually played in a band (where you have to fit in a mix).

But for me, I agree. There's just not a substitute for a good Vox, JCM 800, Mesa, a bunch of the Fenders, etc. Still, Chick #42 falling out of her lol haltertop doesn't care about all that.
