First time trying the new mobile friendly skin on a phone... How do you get to the last unread post?

Will this skin on mobile brave browser mess with my skin on Firefox desktop tomorrow?

I think this is how you get to the first unread post. Max was showing you how to get to the last unread post, ie the last post in the thread



You are correct that first unread post should be the default when you click on a thread as that is where users want to go 99% of the time they open a thread

If I'm understanding your post correctly, I'm pretty sure that's wrong. The double arrow pointing to the right takes you to the last post, read or unread. The single down arrow takes you to the first unread post. On a desktop/laptop browser, that single arrow shows up before the thread title. On a smaller screen like a phone, it appears in the spot where Max's screenshot shows it.

Obviously someone switched it last night before I made my post and has now switched it back

Or maybe I got confused because the placement of the arrows on desktop (first unread by thread title and last post on far right) and mobile (first unread on far right and last post by thread title) is reversed.

I have been using this for 10 years and it was a really nice layout - now it's changed for the worse. Can you just change it back?

You can just keep using the old version, or you can complain and keep using the new version. Upto you really

I wasn't playing poker for a few months so I missed a lot. I'm just not used to it. It feels very bland. I'll just change it back to the old one.

Fair enough, I was just yanking your chain a little. I'd encourage you to try it for a bit; I wasn't a fan immediately. But if the old skin was working for you, I can understand going back.

The main reason I've stuck it out with this new skin is that it's SO much better on my phone. I use my desktop far more often but have found this skin is good enough there, that the improved mobile functionality makes it the better choice for me.

I think I'm only seeing the checkbox on threads I'm subscribed to if they have a poll.

Hate the carousel banner and have switched back to Tapatalk

More feedback on this issue would really be helpful. What are the reasons that you hate this "carousel banner"? Perhaps you don't like how it looks - an ugly design or maybe you think it's some kind of paid advertisement?

I am not sure what did you mean by this, but as far as I know a "banner" is a form of ad by definition. Our feed is not an ad. It contains the most interesting content for users at the current moment of time. We will gradually improve our content selection algorithm to make the featured threads more relevant and personalized to users. So, ideally, we show the most interesting content personally for you at the current moment of time. Currently, we are updating it manually once in 1-2 days. But our goal is to be able to update the feed once in a minute each time you refresh your page depending on your interests. We are going to gradually improve our algorithm.

Why are we doing this? Right now you must find interesting content by yourself. All modern platforms find interesting content for you. You just enter the website and start getting fun immediately.

FaceBook does this. (Excuse me, META)

Where has this led us?

Perhaps let us find what we find interesting on our own?

My apologies for calling it a banner. I hate the feed. It takes up about 20% of my phone's screen, and the feed plus header plus address bar (have you considered a PWA?) take up about a third of my screen and make for a very unpleasant mobile UX every time I try to navigate to a new forum. Tapatalk is so much cleaner I will stick with that.

That seems a horrifying way to navigate to different forums. Hamburger menu FTW!

Didn't even know the hamburger menu did that. Would also be nice to have the header appear once you start to scroll up to be able to access the menu without having to scroll all the way to the top of the page.

Eagerly awaiting Bobo's reply telling me there's an easy way to do that. (I am aware that I can scroll to the bottom of the page and click Top)

I kid, I kid...your idea sounds like a potentially nice addition.

Better yet, use the Forum Jump drop-down, just above the Top button.

Of course that's not especially helpful if you want to jump when you're not near the bottom.

I hope you don't force people in the future to switch to that horrible new theme, as other companies do like facebook or youtube.

Can you elaborate a bit on why you find it so horrible?

We gonna add more themes in the near future. A dark theme will be added ASAP.
