Tompakee,
Throwing out the "bastard" votes, 75% of voters so far are for the banning of signatures.

Re: Let's ban signatures!

"Just put sig users on ignore" is a copout non-solution imho. You could apply this line of reasoning to pretty much *anything* that gets posted on the site. Trolling? Don't bother the mods, just block the offender. Blatant racism? It's all good, just block 'em. Personal attack? How do you know this guy continually posts those if you're using the ignore feature we provided for you? And so on.

I understand that some of us don't have a problem with sigs and that's cool, everyone's entitled to an opinion, but it's pretty clear that many others on the forum do not share this sentiment.

Quote:
I agree with dkgojackets IF its possible to disable the sig's by default (in favor of the anonymous lurkers). Anyone that wants to see them creates an account or enables them on their existing account.
Same.

And counting all the 'bastard' votes as don't ban, >67% of the voters so far are for banning signatures like his, which is over his threshold of 66%.

The unconditional yes to ban is still a little under 50%.

Even if this annoys you it's very easy to ignore.
I don't think Tompakee is easily 'persuaded', and the smiley would be just as yellow

What would you consider a good sample size?

100 seems like a pretty number

Compared to the size of the site? Not really.

Not that we'll ever get a good sample size in ATF.

Re: Let's ban signatures!

I can't understand why overdoing sigs just couldn't be an infraction worthy / bannable offence if continued after warning, like every other out of the hand thing at the forums.

Do we have sigs racism here?
