First, it looks ten times better than the first Vanilla version. But overall the current vBulletin layout and software is just so much better. I don't know if I will use the Vanilla site.
Why not just make it as much like this current site as possible? Or even better, ask people how they would like to improve this current vBulletin site, then make it like that?
But here are a few things I noticed:
On this page
https://pokerforum.twoplustwo.com/discussions contrast between text and background is not enough, it's hard to read.
And all the text and links here
https://pokerforum.twoplustwo.com/categories are just run together instead of an easy-to-read and easy-to-click or expandable list.
On the Vanilla site when clicking this link
https://pokerforum.twoplustwo.com/di...r-player-vlogs it still goes to the first post from years ago instead of the most recent post.
I hate to even say anything negative but it's just so poorly designed like an amateur did it. And it's the kind of stuff I can't even put into words because as a person who knows nothing about web design, all I know is if it looks good and is easy to use or it isn't. I can't tell you how to make it better because I don't know the basic design theory that just makes things work and look good and be easy for the user. Really someone who has taken web design and accessible web pages classes should look at it and make sure it's very accessible for older people to use. (I don't know the demographics of twoplustwo users but I suspect it's mostly older people because the majority of young people don't have extra money to gamble and probably play more video games and other social media vs. forums.)
Something I like about the current vBulletin twoplustwo software is the sheer amount of information and the hundreds of links on the page, but they are all arranged is such a neat and orderly way that it's easy to find and use them.
Some things I don't like about the current vBulletin twoplustwo is the way you have to click someone's profile to put them on the ignore list instead of just having it be in the pop-down list. And I wish I could click a button to permanently not show, delete, ignore, or put at the bottom of the list a thread i'm not interested in reading. I know I can use "subscribed threads" but I like to see new threads too, but then I feel like I'm reading the same thread titles over and over again when looking for new threads. Even clicking the top to arrange them by title or date etc doesn't work to solve this problem.
This post is already too long so I'll stop now. Thank you very much for trying to make it better.
