You will probably be asked to reset your password.

This is the thread for constructive criticism regarding design and functionality.

There's no deadline yet on the move. We want to get a lot of feedback

This thread must stay neat and orderly in order to get work done properly, so don't be offended if your post is moved to the original "big changes" thread.

Looks, and feels, a lot better - a few quick thoughts/questions:

- can the full date be displayed? (currently only month/year is displayed and then you have to mouse over for full date/time)

- will titles, location (join dates) be migrated/shown?

- is it possible to have it stretch horizontally (like the current one does)? There is so much wasted space on each side, especially on a wide-screen monitor.

Edit: Existing spoilers ( [ SPOIL ] [ /SPOIL ] ) are not working on vanilla.

Is there no way to change the theme?

Also, I tried to upload a new animated GIF avatar, and it shows only a static picture, not the animation. Tried loading the old one, but didn't work.

IIRC vanilla may not support animated avatars

No my current avatar was already working when I logged in. Then I noticed that you could use bigger avatars apparently, but when I uploaded one it had the described effect. And I also couldn't get the old one to work.

Honestly, I logged in on Vanilla and was surprised to see my avatar working. Sheep's animated avatar is still working there.

It stretches now. The left hand margin will come back when I put an ad there.

Must have to do with migration? If I try to use sheep's avy or any other of the functioning gifs as my avy they do not work for me but do work for the person I stole it from

Yes the migration procedure preserves it somehow. But when you upload a new gif, it only shows one frame.

Needs to have join date of the poster in the post rather than just number of posts as I give more credit to that for the worthiness of a poster than if someone has made 20,000 posts in 2 years.

Have a Facebook/Twitter Share on every post is ugly.

Maybe we could have AI determine which posts are worth sharing, and only have the links on those posts.

Spoiler:
We could start by feeding it all the posts in ATF, and tell it these are the kind of posts and posters that aren't worthy of links.

Maybe we could list the posts based on the links they had, and only allow posts that had links on them.

Or you could stick your finger back in the dike.

First, it looks ten times better than the first Vanilla version. But overall the current vBulletin layout and software is just so much better. I don't know if I will use the Vanilla site.

Why not just make it as much like this current site as possible? Or even better, ask people how they would like to improve this current vBulletin site, then make it like that?

But here are a few things I noticed:

On this page https://pokerforum.twoplustwo.com/discussions contrast between text and background is not enough, it's hard to read.

And all the text and links here https://pokerforum.twoplustwo.com/categories are just run together instead of an easy-to-read and easy-to-click or expandable list.

On the Vanilla site when clicking this link https://pokerforum.twoplustwo.com/di...r-player-vlogs it still goes to the first post from years ago instead of the most recent post.

I hate to even say anything negative but it's just so poorly designed like an amateur did it. And it's the kind of stuff I can't even put into words because as a person who knows nothing about web design, all I know is if it looks good and is easy to use or it isn't. I can't tell you how to make it better because I don't know the basic design theory that just makes things work and look good and be easy for the user. Really someone who has taken web design and accessible web pages classes should look at it and make sure it's very accessible for older people to use. (I don't know the demographics of twoplustwo users but I suspect it's mostly older people because the majority of young people don't have extra money to gamble and probably play more video games and other social media vs. forums.)

Something I like about the current vBulletin twoplustwo software is the sheer amount of information and the hundreds of links on the page, but they are all arranged is such a neat and orderly way that it's easy to find and use them.

Some things I don't like about the current vBulletin twoplustwo is the way you have to click someone's profile to put them on the ignore list instead of just having it be in the pop-down list. And I wish I could click a button to permanently not show, delete, ignore, or put at the bottom of the list a thread i'm not interested in reading. I know I can use "subscribed threads" but I like to see new threads too, but then I feel like I'm reading the same thread titles over and over again when looking for new threads. Even clicking the top to arrange them by title or date etc doesn't work to solve this problem.

This post is already too long so I'll stop now. Thank you very much for trying to make it better.

What's the motivation behind the migration?

On a cursory look, the vanilla site is glitchy, ugly, and vastly inferior to the vBulletin site.

I don't know if this is in the scope but I think 2+2 has been in need of a way to "like" or +1 a post for a long time..

EDIT: it sounds like there is a reaction function with vanilla.. IMO just a like and dislike would be a lot cleaner

I can't login. It tells me I need a new password. When I give my email to send instructions no email comes. I did change my email address about 5 years ago though so maybe I am registered with my old email address which I can no longer access.

How do I register my current email to my current account without registering for a new 2+2 account?

https://cuttingedgepr.com/free-artic...comprehension/
Using reverse type can destroy reader comprehension

However, all three versions of white text printed on a colored background produced horrendous reader comprehension! Readers complained of experiencing a form of light vibration, which seemed to make the lines of type move and merge into one another.

The big lesson
White reverse type has a disastrous impact on reader comprehension for any reasonable expanse of body text in printed material, even if though it may look attractive in design terms. So don’t let the designers destroy reader comprehension!
