Either you waited more than 30 minutes or you're using 2p2 from a platform where editing isn't possible.

It's almost like there's a time window in which you can edit a post, so you're not able to go back days later and change a post after everyone's responded to it.

Wow!

There's an idea.

Someone should mention that to Jelsoft.

They could make it an admin setting.

I just want to make a couple minor edits in a long post, but someone posted something after me and :;poof::the <EDIT POST> button disappeared.
It would be difficult and confusing to post afterwards saying: "When I said this, in the prior post, I meant that, sorry for the typo."

I haven't posted here in a while. Was that something we used to be able to do that is now turned off?

The forum forces a message at the bottom that an edit has been made...
Does it disrupt the integrity of the forum to disallow edits when someone posts after you?

It doesn't disappear because someone else posted. It disappears after 30 minutes has passed, though (don't know if that's the case here).

By that I mean the time you have to edit your post before the distracting Edit stuff appears at the bottom. I'm a serial post editor (er?). I had my internal clock really well-honed to know how much time I had, within seconds. At least I thought. Lately I've been getting pummeled.

So did this change? If so I don't like it.

AFAIK, the edit with no notation lasts for a 5 min period. The edit with notation lasts for another 25 min on top of that.

Thread titles are different, you may edit them until someone posts in the thread and then they are locked in.

Spoiler:
Fix your clock yo

Edit with no notation is way shorter than 5 min. More like 1-2 min. I think it was 1 min. along time ago, then changed to 2 until recently, and now it's back to 1. That's what it feels like anyway.

I edited my first post in this thread after 4 min with no notation.

Green mods get no different time. I think just reds and blues can edit at anytime with no notation.

Ok so my internal clock sucks at converting to actual minutes.

By any chance is it forum based? Sure seems shorter in Politics.
