I am a member at deuces cracked. On their forum they have four color cards and this makes reading and responding to hands much easier. It feels like I am going backwards when I come to post on 2p2.

Could we get four color cards up on this site?

I think there's a 4-color converter out there somewhere, IIRC. But really I'd just get used to standard, the world is not ready for 4-color decks.

When they are please contact me, I have one for sale.

I use them at my home game with great success, plus they work as great Hearts decks. Why don't you think the world is ready for 4 colors?

Old people. Once they die, we're home free.

4 color cards are a crutch.

A crutch I use, but still a crutch.

I'm waiting for the 52 color deck of cards. That would be awesome. No need to read those pesky numbers and suits and stuff once you get your brain programmed to think of all 52 different colors correctly.

Why not? Being intelligent doesn't entitle you to winning at poker.

why all the flaming? 4 colour decks are a lot easier to read and Im pretty sure the vast majority of online players use them when playing, so why not for the converter too?

4-color deck in progress:

All the face cards have a ****load of their suit integrated into the design. Standard black for spades, blue diamonds & green clubs. Jokers are awesome. 5th suit may or may not get completed.

Disagree, I don't think they're a crutch. But I do think that two color decks should be "standard" for table games, with the exception of (real) poker games, where 4 color cards should be adopted as a specialty deck.

Besides, ever try to play solitare with a 4 color deck?

Looks good btw Gonso.

Heh, I actually ship a solitaire game for the Mac with a 4 color deck option. It's bad for a Klondike or a Freecell but good for a Grandfather Clock or a Spider, so it's optional.

can someone explain to me what the point of a 4 color deck is? (I'm assuming this means a different color for each suit, rather than just red and black?)

Easier to see flushes at a quick glance. More aesthetically pleasing to me, too.

ya i wikipeidaied it, and apparently this is important for online players who multi table. Live, I can't see the benefit.

I find 2 colors to be worse than both 4 colors and 1 color, live. Either go ahead and color code the suits, or don't. The current way, accidentally disclosing the color of the card (inadvertently exposing or whatever) some information is given and there is no benefit to the player in easily seeing suits by color. With 1 color, no information would be given if only the color of a card were glimpsed. With 4 colors, some information would be given, but at least there would be a trade off of easier to see suits. Two just makes no sense to me. I can understand if you don't see the benefit of seeing the suits via color, though.

Some card games have rules that involve red/black cards, but poker is not one of them. Flushes are the only purpose of the suits so it makes sense to have 4 cards so when you're scrolling casually through a high stakes thread it makes it faster to read.
