The first two frames of that comic seem legitimate to me. I've never heard of anyone saying cars shouldn't have seat belts. Do any not have them? Seems stupid to me.
Anyway, Cows posts demonstrate that she has no grasp of business, global economics, wealth distribution, etc. She just 'knows' that if you're rich, you're evil. It's a fatuous position to take, and I didn't hear any real policy solutions in her rant.
I'm sure some of you SJWs contribute more than simply ranting and raving to like-minded individuals in the Politics forum of 2+2. But the reality is, most of you do nothing.
Finally, if Apple came to consumers and said, "Hey, we can make sure our supply chain is completely ethical, the workers will be unionized and well-compensated, BUT, your phone will now cost 3x what it once did. What do you say?" I have a feeling people will abandon their ethics for the sake of their wallets.
Edit: Re: Foxconn. The article only mentions that the suicide rates for workers at Foxconn were no higher than that of the general population in passing, as if that isn't a very important fact to mention. If they are the same, then it's hard to make the case that the conditions of the factory lead people to commit suicide. Yes, the conditions are ****ty, but have you been to China? I lived there and the it's pretty ****ty and hopeless everywhere (Communism, what a joy!). But the suicide nets are horrible to see and it appeals to to the morality of the easily confused and naive.
