Kind of a creepy show he's running over there.

"Agree with me that we should be monstrously outraged over these particular war dead, that the perpetrators should be called war criminals, or I'll ban you if you persist in calling them collateral damage".

Absurd. Even now, here in ATF, he won't reverse an obvious error of judgment as a mod until the perpetrator bows to his political view.
You are "the slavery is a good thing" Nazi dingus. You're criticisms aren't legitimate at all and you would be banned on site on a lot of forums.

Not legitimate. LOL

There is a poster in the Politics forum openly flaunting a "hammer and sickle" emblem as his avatar, and openly espousing the ideology that it represents. Just fyi, that emblem represents an ideology responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of innocent people and the repression of billions. That particular emblem is just as reprehensible as the the Nazi swastika.

Is that poster exiled or banned? Of course not. Yet someone says something about collateral damage in a war and gets exiled.

Not legitimate criticisms, my ass. It's blatantly biased bull**** and just another example of the shameful moderating in that forum.

I wouldn't say that exactly. Although it would be quite entertaining if the eight individuals who own as much wealth as the poorest 50% of the world's population put together happened to be sitting in one stretch Mercedes on their way to the Savoy for some stupid reception, and an RAF jet just happened to accidentally fire a Brimstone missile at said vehicle full of oligarchic infamy.

He's also a bit like this guy, a slaver who donated great sums for the benefit of the city of Bristol (to buy an imaginary place in an imaginary heaven), and the city of Bristol is rather struggling with that tainted legacy nowadays.

My criticism of Wookie in this thread are spot on the money, or you wouldn't be pulling out the N word. He breaks the rules of modding all the time with arbitrary bans to further his politics.

I have never been banned from any forum. Wookie is the only mod who ever has, and he only did it - perma, no warning - after I questioned his philosophy. Like OP here. I cross the line of SJW-defined decency often and I'm a legitimate politics ban, so I'm not arguing that I'm a case of bad modding from Wookie.

But there are many that are. You can see him above trying to force OP to agree to his personal non-mainstream political view in order to reenter the politics forum.

The first two frames of that comic seem legitimate to me. I've never heard of anyone saying cars shouldn't have seat belts. Do any not have them? Seems stupid to me.

Anyway, Cows posts demonstrate that she has no grasp of business, global economics, wealth distribution, etc. She just 'knows' that if you're rich, you're evil. It's a fatuous position to take, and I didn't hear any real policy solutions in her rant.

I'm sure some of you SJWs contribute more than simply ranting and raving to like-minded individuals in the Politics forum of 2+2. But the reality is, most of you do nothing.

Finally, if Apple came to consumers and said, "Hey, we can make sure our supply chain is completely ethical, the workers will be unionized and well-compensated, BUT, your phone will now cost 3x what it once did. What do you say?" I have a feeling people will abandon their ethics for the sake of their wallets.

Edit: Re: Foxconn. The article only mentions that the suicide rates for workers at Foxconn were no higher than that of the general population in passing, as if that isn't a very important fact to mention. If they are the same, then it's hard to make the case that the conditions of the factory lead people to commit suicide. Yes, the conditions are ****ty, but have you been to China? I lived there and the it's pretty ****ty and hopeless everywhere (Communism, what a joy!). But the suicide nets are horrible to see and it appeals to to the morality of the easily confused and naive.

For over a decade, me and people like me have protested how McDonald's treats their chickens. Many don't eat there because they are vegetarian, but somehow, McD's has moved to cage-free eggs:

http://fortune.com/mcdonalds-cage-free/

I'm curious, did they have to triple the price to consumers? Or did they find a way to not have to raise their prices significantly?

American Apparel makes clothes using unionized, US-based labor (Like, in the continental US, not that "ASSEMBLED IN USA" crap other companies throw on clothes to hide their slave labor in Saipan) and somehow they manage to not charge 3 times as much for clothes as their competitors.

How can this be?

Also, while looking at the panels in that cartoon, use the images drawn by the author as context clues. Like, that castle in the background, probably isn't a contemporary time period. That car the gentleman is considering, doesn't much look like a 2017 Ford, does it?

Cage free is a scam--not that good for the birds and really bad for the workers--yet people like the sound of it and most probably think it means free range.

The cage-free egg trend: Is it just a shell game?
Quote:
When it came to freedom and the ability for birds to express natural behaviours, a cage-free environment, not surprisingly, provides the most benefits. And yet, contrary to popular opinion, it also has the greatest negative impact in every category. On animal health and well-being, the environment, worker health and safety, and food affordability, cage-free had the most severe consequences.

For example, 12 per cent of cage-free hens die prematurely – about double the rate of those in cage systems – often from issues that cages were originally introduced to prevent: bone injuries, excessive pecking – and cannibalism.

The last of those is caused by a variety of factors, but "once cannibalization starts, it spreads throughout the flock, because birds copy each other's behaviour," says Joy Mench, a professor of animal science at UC Davis, and a lead researcher on the study. "If a bird is in a conventional [battery cage] system and there's only six birds, it doesn't go very far. But if it's in an aviary where you have lots of birds, you can get this very rapid spread of cannibalization."

The study also raised concerns about hygiene, air quality and health, of both hens and workers. With cages, manure drops through the wire floor, collected safely away from both the bird and eggs. But when birds are free to roam, it can be difficult to control where the eggs and manure end up. Meanwhile, material for dust-bathing – bits of straw or sawdust that the birds roll around in to "clean" themselves of parasites – is also kicked up into the air, resulting in dust levels between eight and 10 times that of caged systems.

Not sure I'd be using American Apparel as a success story if I were you. You realize they've basically been in bankruptcy for years now, right?

Furthermore, American Apparel is ridiculously overpriced and got their ass kicked by fast fashion that utilizes third world manufacturing to keep their cost down.

Mcdonalds' prices have gone up significantly over the years as well.

Not really interested in comic analysis.
