I am not trying to be snarky when I say I really have no idea what your issue is. I am genuinely confused. You don't seem interested in explaining yourself so I guess we're at an impasse. Whatever it is you're accusing me of doesn't really make sense to me.

i guess the question becomes, how much blatant bigotry do we tolerate from mods when it's just being "edgy"? And is there really a good reason to care that there's a difference? Do the various people who might consider frequenting this site but get driven away due to open bigotry from forum officials care that there's a difference?

I've been assured that 2p2 tptb care very much about ... something.

my friend from pakistan talks about how he hates indians all the time so theres definitely some potential fireworks there.

I'm watching this thread. No strong opinion has been formed yet. Certainly light years away from making any actual decision.

I know some people hate that I operate that way. But some users, who have benefited from such a slow and indecisive process, actually appreciate the process. And yes, I acknowledge that I have made some rash decisions, but I regret most of those and tried to make amends where possible.

Anyway, there was once a user named Lirva. He eventually banned himself, but he was quite the disruptive force. He was permabanned at least once. Not sure why it was overturned. I think it was largely because he had some private correspondence with Mason and I and we liked him. But the first permanent was for the following reason:

Permabanned [PMing users bestiality porn without any sort of warning. That is not acceptable. (-Moderator name removed)]

LOL at the concept of permanent bans, of course. I don't personally like them very much. An attitude that has a few people (people i respect very much) not too happy with me.

Sorry. Thank you. You're welcome. Sorry again.

Well that Lirva person you mention probably shouldn't have been allowed back imo, but they weren't a mod, correct? The issue with Zeno and augie_ is that they are mods and are in effect public representatives of the twoplustwo brand.

not even a pause? oh well.

going to post a billy joel video then (for lirva if he's watching):

So the holier than thou ACEG just happens top be a previously perma-banned poster and a giant bigot (by the classical definition) to boot.

Who would have thought (not)?

My intention is not to lash out, but encourage understanding.

lirva was a lot of things but giant bigot wasn't one of them.

I know you didn't post that for me, but that's a pretty great song! I never got too into Billy Joel, but I know he's written a ton of songs that are widely acclaimed. The driving rock song with main instrumentation being the piano is kind of an uncommon thing these days, which is a shame because it's a great sound imo.

Anyway, was nice chatting with you Mat. Here's an egg salad sandwich

Spoiler:

And a song to boot!

The nickel dropped
When I was on
My way beyond
The Rubicon
What did I do

And of the games that I can handle
None are ones worth the candle
What can I do

I'm a frightened, fickle person
Fighting, cryin', kickin', cursin'
What should I do

Oooh, after all the folderol,
And hauling over coals stops
What will I do

Can't take a good day without a bad one
Don't feel just to smile until I've had one
Where did I learn

I make a fuss about a little thing
The rhyme is losing to the riddling
Where's the turn

I don't want a home, I'd ruin that
Home is where my habits have a habitat
Why give it a turn

Oh, after all the folderol
And hauling over coals stops
What did I learn

I am likely to miss the main event
If I stop to cry or complain again
So I will keep a deliberate pace
Let the damned breeze dry my face

Oh, mister, wait until you see
What I'm gonna be

I've got a plan, a demand and it just began
And if you're right, you'll agree

Here's coming a better version of me
Here it comes a better version of me
Here it comes a better version of me

Egg salad sandwiches are particularly good. When they're good.

love that song. never really listened to it before. it's a constant struggle, trying to improve oneself.
11-06-2017 , 12:08 AM
I thought you would like that. I've never eaten a single one and wouldn't touch one because I think they look like puke on bread!
11-06-2017 , 12:10 AM
I wouldn't trade one Zeno for Wookie's 10 best screeching SJWs.

I didn't know Lirva, but the new incarnation is most certainly a giant bigot using the above definition.
11-06-2017 , 12:28 AM
So here's a personal song for AllCowsEatGrass.

What you actually want from us?

11-06-2017 , 12:38 AM

Spoiler:

I think tptb should face the fact that mods are in effect public representatives of the twoplustwo brand, and should consider if having bigoted mods represent them publicly is ultimately a good thing or a bad thing, and act accordingly.

My view is that they should not be mods.
11-06-2017 , 12:51 AM
I understand you feel that way. I wish I viewed the issue as simply as that.
11-06-2017 , 12:56 AM
How do you view it?
11-06-2017 , 01:04 AM
For starters, people who have been an integral part of this site for longer than a decade aren't people i haphazardly discard.

And second, this little internet island is pretty much sinking into the ocean. Killing off the original crew ain't gonna save it.

As far as actually making decisions, I actually like Zeno's style, outside of the blatantly disgusting racism, of course. Other than that, well named's take is by far the best one imo.
11-06-2017 , 01:09 AM
If i could clone well named, he would take over every mod position on this site. And mine, if i could get a severance from Mason.

If I can rephrase this statement in more generalized terms, it sounds like you’re saying that making changes won’t affect the current trajectory of the forum. I can pretty much guarantee the inverse of this is true.

Yeah, he'd probably be a better Politics mod than me, but I like him too much to inflict that on him.
