Trolly and others encouraged me to be more active on UP. I popped in several times, but it seemed like a lot of the discussion was about moderation. I didn't have the energy to get involved in a modern-day reenactment of Lord of the Flies, and I didn't dig in enough to figure out which posters were playing the roles of Ralph, Jack, and Piggy.

Eh, things have simmered down a bit.

That's a beautiful story but I was wondering why wookie was no longer a mod on 2+2. So far the only answer I got was they closed down the politics section which he moderated. That doesn't really make sense since he was still a mod well over a year after it was closed down but also he was abusing his status as moderator in front of admin and still nothing happened. I would have believed he just stepped down but since getting a dishonest story from his unstuck buddy, it doesn't look like that's what happened.

This thread reads like a soap opera set in a mental hospital. A community of loons formed in the politics section which was ignored for years. When people pointed to the problem the politics community said they were excellent but mean to bad people that deserved it. They went and started their own community that could only improve upon their 2+2 experience. Same train train wreck new name. Now some have popped back in here to remind everyone how insane they are
