I don't remember exactly how it played out, but like 90% of victor's claims itt are obvious and total fabrications. I was forcibly removed as admin, and for some reason remained unbanned for a while. Then it became obvious to me that inevitably someone would start a poll on whether I should be banned, and since I didn't want to remain in that community anyway and such a thread would have caused me considerable distress, I pleaded mods to just perm me, which they did.

Don't see how it matters, and if new owners are confused about this, suffice it to say you'd be better off stifling any discussion of unstuck on this forum, because last I checked they are still going in circles in the same vicious arguments they've been having for literally years, and they'd bring it here in a heartbeat if they had nowhere else to take frustrations out on other people (as you can get a little taste of in the last ~100 posts).

Although, honestly, I do chuckle imagining the histrionics going on in the invisible forum over there.

the pm team, wanted less moderation bc it was a small forum of people who had know each other for years. it was the ideological spectrum from centrist to lefties. so this is from memory

the sad thing is that most people just reflexively popped in to support the "ban everybody" approach. just shows that most people are at heart bootlickers and bullies. funny thing was when some people read the bullshit they decided that hey, this is really dumb and we shouldnt have major campaigns to ban people that a few bullies dont like. those people were subsequently ostracized. most people were fervent and unapologetic and proud non-readers and just sided with the bullies and mods.

the argument was like "hey if you just posted exactly like we want then you wont be banned and everyone will be happy." also, the fact that someone had been banned before meant that they were undoubtedly a troll and anything the posted in the future was BAD FAITH trolling.

it was a pretty bizarre social experiment actually.

well i'm not well versed in the lore of the unstuck split, it's my understanding they broke off because they felt moderation of politics was too biased for the right so i find it extra hilarious they then began moderating and banning people themselves

Last few pages serve as an appetizer in to the world of weirdos that created a community here while month after month and year after year admin plowed through warning signs like they were a 16 year old runaway

As I remember it, Mason himself locked the forum down because there was some anti-trump ridicule going on, and that just led a large contingent of users saying "screw this" and going to their own corner of the Internet. There may be more to it than that, but it was a while ago.
