Notice I never said it couldn't be in NVG as well; I'm just saying that locking it in NVG and sending everyone to IP wouldn't be unreasonable.
There's a fair bit of crossover between the two forums. Sometimes subjects are allowed to exist in both, and other times they're closed in one forum.
The upside to allowing them in both is that there are many NVG readers that don't read IP, and vice versa, so more people see the threads this way. The downside is that you get the same conversation going in two different forums, and good points might be made in one thread that aren't in the other - it's much simpler if the conversation is all taking place in one thread.
In this case, I'm somewhat indifferent. It's not like this is some breaking news event that everyone has to hear about
right now , and most people who are really interested in the different games they can play on online sites will end up in Internet Poker anyway. Also, with a well-established thread in IP, many questions people might have will already have been answered. On the other hand, it's not like it's some controversial topic on which there will be a raging debate, so duplicate conversations aren't especially harmful, and it is a subject that will be of interest to many NVGers.
I will add, saying this news is nearly of BF caliber is kind of silly IMO. It's not even close. BF had a huge impact on players around the world, causing many to have money tied up for a long time, and possibly lost for good. Zoom poker is a cool new opportunity for half of our posters. The two aren't even close to comparable. But topics don't need to be BF caliber to have a thread in both forums.
Cliffs: Threads in both forums or just in one are equally reasonable solutions IMO.
