I'm pretty sure they don't make vinyl records anymore. It's all 8-track tapes these days. People don't even have HiFis anymore.

Generally speaking, when DS goes into politics, it's a complete trainwreck of a situation. Mason barely seems to post at all. Mat uses the forums, afaict, as something of a place to conduct social experiments.

All this is fine and well, because the forums seem to run okay.

My question is: is it better or worse that the head honchos basically don't use the forum the same way many to most of their users do?

Like, would the place be markedly different if DS/MM/MS were frequent POGers and OOTers? Would it be better or worse?

And what does it say for a forum when the owners/people who run the place are extremely out of touch with their users? Something bad? Nothing at all?

Just something that's been rattling around the ol' noggin' for a while.

Says something about the politics forum. Not just DS of course, it would be interesting to know what %age of 2+2ers (same question for all human beings) would cause a trainwreck and/or be banned.

That's not necessarily good or bad but it is a strange and unwelcoming place.
