Can't be too hard to program, many other forums and comment sections have them already. What's the harm or negative to having it?

Thoughts?
Pretty sure it was tried and universally hated.

I'm against it.

But what happens if it is implemented and someone gets a lot of hated votes, do we vote them off the island?

As they say, "everything old is new again."

How about a "no thank you" button?

I'ld forgotten about those 'Like" buttons. Probably for the best.....

Now I'll try to forget them again.

Blame Plaaynde. Earlier he requested more activity in ATF. Maybe this wasn't what he had in mind - who knows? It's more activity.

Didn't know we were going the direction of facebook..

There's already enough social media out there, guess we need one more
01-19-2014 , 12:29 PM
No, it doesn't need a like and thanks button.
01-19-2014 , 12:49 PM

I know it's ghey copying Facebook or Youtube styles but I think it could be a good idea to have a +1/-1 function on posts in the strategy forums.

This would enable members reading the HH's/receiving advice on their HH's to see which opinions are the most popularly agreed with as there are sometimes many conflicting opinions in a scenario and it doesn't always get resolved.

Perhaps even including a function to see WHO +1'd/-1'd so you can be sure that if a post has, for example, +5 from 5 respected members or mods (the respected mods I mean :P) then it should be trusted.

I know you could just quote the post and +1 it but I know for a fact a lot more people would click a little button next to the post they are reading to agree with it than write a reply.

I have absolutely no idea if this is feasible from a software point of view._______________________________EG -> +1

A -1 isn't even necessary. Just a +1 would be fine.

if rapini likes the idea, that tells you something

Lack of up voting does not equal down voting.
