OP your original goal was to generate funds to play in WSOP '10 ME - accrue necessary $ amount and GO FOR IT! Yes its a long shot, yes you'll be out 10k, but you never know...

alternatively build additional "ne$t egg" and attempt to "satellite" in, use 10k for hookers and blow while in Vega$.

i tend to agree on the use $$ for satellites method. You can also play them live of course while in vegas, have a good chance of keeping a nice chunk of change plus a sattelite for 10 people to win one seat will probably give you more excitement than the first three days of the wsop combined (you will have this excitement multiple times also if you don't immediately succeed). Read 'positively 5th street' and be that guy, not matt damon

honestly you should go to vegas early and play a live sat into the main event. costs you FAR less giving you multiple opportunities to get in if you don't succeed at first, and still leaves you with a nice chunk of change.

Just in response to a few things I read here - yeah I could play satellites but I'd hate to play half a dozen $500 satty's and still not make it and then just buy in anyway. Afterall what is a satellite?...it's a just a tourney that awards you a seat, and if you won an online satty you can get the T$ anyway so it's not much different to cashing in a couple of donkaments like i did....didn't explain that very well but to me there's not much difference between having 10k in T$ or $10k cash stashed away in a separate account.

Having said that though I could see myself playing 1 or 2 live $300 satty's in Vegas...I don't know.

I'll still try and qualify online too....I've busted in a nuber of Step 6's on Stars in the past using FPP's from step 1 so will probably go down that path again

Two things,

First, I always wonder why people marry when their spouse "hates" something they love, mostly because any decent spouse would STFU even if they hated it.

Second, I wonder what your wife would do if you offered her that 10k to STFU forever about you playing poker, which I would consider a much more effective use of 10K.

been married longer than I've been playing poker. She actually doesn't hate poker, she just hates the fact that I spend too much time doing it. I've cut right back just playing 3 nights a week.

as for the effective use of 10k...at the moment I can't think of anything I'd rather do with it...it's not a bankroll thing, it's a bit of a dream thing.
