so after a couple minutes of debate and desperate ideas that were mostly just funny my whole college soccer team looks to me like I am THE answer to the team fundraising debt we owe from traveling last season. OMFGGGG WE'LL JUST GIVE YOU MONEY, AND YOU WILL DOUBLE IT!!!! ITS SO EASY!!!! Then some genius thinks I don't quite understand the proposition and further explains in detail to me how it works like im ******ed, "Oh Cody, thanks for clearing that up, now that you say it that way.....no".

The team just keeps getting poker wrong, at first it was 100% gamble when i hadnt made much yet, and now after some $$$s its just 100% profit and soooo easy. It'd b kinda funny tho to take it, esp. if i won. If I lost I'd prob just pretend it was my own BR I lost $ on and try to double theirs.

There are so many reasons.

1. People are results orienented if they don't understand the game. IE conversation with my friend after a casino trip:

Her: So how did the casino go?

Me: Lost about 100 dollars.

Her: You suck

Me: I was a 95% favorite on the hand I went broke on.

Her: So what, you still lost.

Me: You don't know what you're talking about.

Her: I know you lost all your money.

2. People think I'm a degen, just because I like to gamble on pool, ping pong and make prop bets (I only do it when I'm +ev). Like I made a prop bet about how long it would take for two people to start hooking up and someone found out and thought I was nuts. But I won that **** so **** them.

But sometimes I wish people understood poker talk. Like one time I bought nuts at a hockey game and I said "I've got the nuts" and no one got it. Or like I say "lol ____aments" and no one knows wtf I'm talking about. And also one time I said "I was going to try to hook up with an old gf but she was fat now so it was obv -ev." Then I had to explain the concept of expected value which was a nightmare.

Stupid life donkeys.

(Year ago)As I play 12 tables of 100nl in the other room. I can hear my parents yelling at the top of their lungs and pounding on the table. Footsteps to my room. Brian, Brian, you wouldn't believe this. I go all in with KK and a guy calls with AQ and hit an ACE ON THE RIVER! Has that ever happened to you??

(Tables popping up every where on my screen)
Thinking to myself...."I think thats happened to me about 15 times in the last half hour."

"What were you playing?"

"2000 play money Sit n Go"

If everyone is playing online Poker for a living, who's losing? lol.

This may be offtopic but I like to play parlays in sports every now and then. Of course, most of the time I lose but when I win, I win big. And when I go on a parlay winning streak (increasing my bets each time), the later win is sometimes more than what I have lost in the last 6 months and enough for me to go on speanding and partying.

Every now and then I will be at a buddy's house or just out, checking the scores in a PC or the TV every 2 minutes as my heart is racing towards the 4th quarter, the bottom of the 8th inning or the 3rd period, and somebody will ask me:

"So how much do you make on that?" or

"Wow you make more than I make in a week!" or

"How much are you up exactly?" or...

"If I gave you 200-300 dollars, can you win me some money too?"

Then I have to explain to them how I analyse the games. I know I am playing a losing game overall and I do it for the rush of that occasional big win. It is a hobby that with the occasional variance, I find less costly or damaging over smoking or doing drugs.

My objective becomes to sound as smart as possible because I know I don't want to hear "so why do you do it?". There is no rational explanation.

The worst is, whenever I comment on a dumbass play in a baseball, football or hockey game, someone in the room will automatically assume I just lost a bundle.

having a drink with a friend who actually likes to play alittle bit, although hes not the brightest.

me: i folded pocket kings before the flop for the first time today.

him: idiot why did you do that.

me: well i couldnt see him having anything other than aces.

him: did he.

me: no he had kings aswell, lucky really as he hit a flush so he would of won anyway.

him: so it was a really good fold then.

Also I have this same problem, for some reason I only talk about my losses if at all so I keep getting questions like "so you think you're up overall?". ugh.
HAHAHAH

Dude who got me into poker and is a somewhat decent player is 100% convinced online poker is rigged to make more exciting showdowns. Also he folded in our home game SNG with like 60% of his stack already in the pot as BB, then came back to win, thus proving forever that he was correct and I was wrong.

Another friend who claims to have been a pro poker player for a year is convinced he can only win against good players. Donkeys suck out too much.
