I also had a Co-Worker who said online poker is 100% rigged, once he watched me playing 4 tables on the work computer and i got dealt AK in two tables at once and he went all crazy like he had rabies or something "SEE?!! SEE!!?! IN LIVE POKER YOU NEVER GET AK THAT OFTEN!" and continued saying something that in live poker i win but online i lose, a moment later he told me about his super system in online limit poker where he limps every hand because you can always make two pair or something and how he makes monies with this style.

him: you playing?
me: nope
him: start playing then
me: when i feel like it

an hour later its:

him: you playing?
me: nope
him: start playing man
me: ......

when im playing its:

him: you playing?
me: yeah
him: how much you up?
me: im actually down

Me too. I'm like Peter Griffin when he's busted in the mental hospital and looks around quickly to make up a fake name... (sees peas on plate) "Pee" (sees someone crying) "teer" (sees griffin fly by) "GRIFFIN!"

So if someone asks me what I do for a living and I'm in like Chapters, I'll be like, "I... uh work at Chapters" and turn around and start rearranging the books on a shelf.

Works every time.

From most of the responses in the thread I will have to say QFT. If you don't want to talk about poker come up with something creative and avoid it all together.

Isn't that kinda how businesses in general make money, getting in good and hoping the flip works out.

I also really liked the Hevad Khan comment and am loving the Daniel/Joe Rogan interview.

Also if you get asked what your job is and you don't want to say you are a poker player just say you work for the IRS. Pretty much everybody will distance themselves and never say a word to you again. If someone asks a follow up just say you tax people for their monies, which is kinda true. Loved the thread and thought I would add my two cents.

Not to open up this can of worms again.

BUT

do you have proof that online poker isn't rigged?

The only thing i hate more than people screaming online poker is rigged

is

People screaming online poker isn't rigged.

The truth is, we don't really know.

[x] I completely agree with this assessment of the checkbox system. Just putting an [x] in front of a normal response is pretty douchy and really shouldn't ever be done by any thinking.......

We deal the board, his AK holds up, and he says "It feels so good to win one of these against you", at which point I was like wtf are you talking about, I have 8000 chips left. He starts laughing and says, "It doesnt matter, you declared all-in, that means everything you have goes into the pot". Trying not to embarrass him in front of everyone, I explain that we aren't playing that way and then he said "I'm explaing official rules to you, goddamn it, how do you play on the internet without even knowing proper rules". I just let it be, but later on that day when we went to the liquor store, I 'forgot' my wallet at home. lol Donkaments.
Just reading through this thread again for laughs and I came across this. ****ing awesome.

Have only read half this thread so far, but I haven't seen this one yet...

"Do you ever go 'all in'?"
or
"Have you ever been 'all in'?"

haha people who have watched like 5 minutes of poker on TV before and although I'm sure they are trying to be nice and engage in a conversation or whatever, it's basically impossible not to laugh...

Correct response? "no, I'm so good I never need to"

Me: Just lost a tornament
Him: Did you go all-in?

I do, as soon as they ask if I win or lose, then they stop straight away. It's amazingly easy to ask stupid questions about someone else's job, and quite good fun too.
