It usually goes like this:

Mom : "how much did you make today"

Me : "More than dad made this week"

Mom : " Dad didnt work this week..."

Me: "......(****)...."

Mom: "Get a ****ing job"

You are a douche.

You live with your parents, who give you shelter, feed you. And you dare say something like this? DOUCHE.

You've already failed at the game of life and you're only a kid. How cute is that

I mostly won't tell people i play poker for living, cuz they will give me this weird look that i don't like, and i would either be mean to them n ruin the day

Or I would just try to change the subject n i will feel terrible for not replying, So sometimes i just try to avoid the topic n not tell what i do for living

Ask them for his phone number so you can set up a game with him. Seriously, if they think it's OK to bring that up like that, it's OK for you to joke about it.

I'd blow my ****ing brains out rather than have my sole source of income be $6 an hour grinding limit poker.

+1 I'd rather lose money at blackjack than doing this.

Its pretty funny/annoying because I will go into my office and shut the door and let her know I can't be disturbed for a few hours on a Saturday afternoon or a weeknight where we don't have plans etc.

So last weekend she interupts my session for like the 3rd time in a row and I say

"I can't concentrate and make plans with you at the same time"

her: "you care more about poker blah blah" being dramatic

me: "look its hard work and I need to concentrate and when I don't concentrate, it costs me a lot of money"

her: "well fine whatever, but don't call it work. Its not work." (tilt)

She sits there, watches me ship a small pot

her: "fine, you're buying me new boots with that pot you just won". (lol)
lol, this is/was my wife.

when i first started playing, i put 100 on stars, and my wife asked me if i was going to lose the mortgage money.

she'd have a hissy every time i wanted to go and play in AC. the first time i came home a winner (@200) i gave it to her. now she asks me when i'm going again, but now i get to keep my winnings.

but forget playing during the day- wimminz like their attention, and usually deserve it.

Wow, why do people get married to women like these?

No offense, but if that's all the respect and trust you get...sounds like a bunch of entitled whiny bitchy spoiled women to me.

In b4 "you know nothing of marriage" since I'm married. Not to a bitch though...

this might come as a surprise to you, but i can't convey the entire depth and richness of the typical husband/wife relationship with a few sentences posted on an internet forum.

Not saying the bitchiness is all of the relationship or that your description conveys all of your relationship's depth.

It does, however, convey certain traits of character that are far from amazing and make me wonder how one can tolerate being in a relationship with a person displaying such traits, that's all.

Somehow it got out on my university hockey team that I play. I don't recall telling anyone that I play but I could've easily said something when I'm drunk and don't remember. Last week when the guy handling our finances was trying to buy us plane tickets he said he needed some of the guys to pay the yearly dues because they haven't paid yet so we can buy the tickets. The guy who didn't want to pay suggested they give me the money they have in the account to me to go play blackjack (since I play poker I MUST be good at BJ)

my parents aren't too bad with it now and my dad understands things like ranges, equitys and taking best line to exploit people.. problem is he then tells loads of random people in public that I don't really know and I get twice as many of these conversations as I did before :F.
