"I just hope she's not my cousin? Wow, saving the for last! Unnecessarily crude (some of us manage conversations without dropping the f-bomb every ten seconds) but I have to admit it was hilarious.

Recently since i have been playing semi-pro and making some $$$ instead of working in a "regular job" flipping burgers or whatever my family have threatended to destroy my laptop if i dont stop playing. They want me working in some ****** supermarket/depatrment store even though i explain repeately that i make money, i also pay rent and pay for whatever i use (buy my own food etc) Not just verbal abuse but being shunned also.
Once my mother got a bottle of coca cola ready to pour on my new laptop and screamed "i've had enough of you and this!"
my sister has tried to drop my laptop on the floor even though i have let her use it for emails etc

I'm from a weird family to say the least, a mixture of ignorance and religion can be explosive......

Your parents and siblings are f***ing morons; if you ever find yourself yelling "YOU'RE A F***ING MORON!!!" at one of them, it's the truth.

My insanely lucky but bad friend repeatedly asked me to show me my graph since he sometimes plays poker for micro dollars. So after about 10 times I decided to show my graph (which is pretty much completely variancefree) and he told me "so that means you never get bad beats"...

Tilt.

If you say "religion," the "ignorance" part is redundant.

Einstein didn't believe in a personal god. He just uses the word god as an abstract idea of why things are like they are. I don't think he's much use quoting as defence of religion, even if he arguably did believe in some kind of god figure (organised religion and god are not synonyms). Most would call him an agnostic by today's definition.

"In their struggle for the ethical good, teachers of religion must have the stature to give up the doctrine of a personal God, that is, give up that source of fear and hope which in the past placed such vast power in the hands of priests."

Talking to my brother and attempting to explain to him how I am a full time poker pro:

Him: "So what are you doing for money down there?"
Me: "Actually, I'm, uh, playing poker for a living."
Him: "Playing poker? You can make money doing that?"
Me: "Yea it pays the bills."
Him: "So how much do you make?"
Me: "I made $X last month, and $Y so far this month."
Him: "WOW that's a lot of money. What are you going to do in the future though? It's not like you can play poker forever."
Me: "Why do you say I can't keep doing this?"
Him: "Well, (Insert name), your luck is going to run out eventually."
