when people play so much worse at 1/2 NL live????

Arrived friday at evening at foxwoods and immediately went to the bathroom, checked my bags and went to festival buffet (i love their seafood section!).
I brought 1300 for some reason but I decided to just play 1/2 NL and I was fortunate to be placed at a new table with several young kids who had been clearly drinking and a loose old asian woman on my right.
Now i don't really play live so my bet sizing was insanely bad all night because i'm just an idiot i guess hopefully next time i will learn from this experience.

So i'm in the 3 seat and some fighter guy ken shamrock is at my table in the 6 seat (i didn't know who he was but some people kept asking for his autograph). he seems to not really know what hes doing. In the 5 seat is a drunk kid who is open shoving J,t and playing insane.

I buy in for $200. I have QQ in the BB, whole table limps (this is not like anything i experience online) and i didnt want a whole lot of callers so I decided to make it $32 to go. insane drunk kid calls. shamrock folds. rest of table folds. I shove before flop is dealt (drunk kid has like $70-$80 left) flop is
A 57 rainbow. he decides to call (!) all in with k6 offsuit. turn and river blank and i win a decent pot.

stack is at about $370. I'm in SB bunch of people limp. LagMonkey in seat 7 makes his standard $20 to go which indicates that he probably has 2 cards that arent that far apart like a ten and a 7 or a ten and an 8. I make it $154 total. Asian woman snap calls her last $82 from BB, and lagmonkey and rest of table folds, she refuses to show her cards until the end and what do u know my AA holds up vs her AJs.

So i'm sitting with $500 now and a new bunch of drunk kids has joined the table. One of them seems like he might be capable of rational thought. that one makes it ten to go from seat 6 and gets 3 callers. I have QQ in the BB. I decided to just call preflop because i'm a nit and I don't have any reads on this guy who just raised EP. Flop is J85 with 2 diamonds. I check and Asian woman to my immediate left open shoves her last $67. preflop raiser think s for a while and folds. some old dude who is really laggy preflop calls (he has like another $150 left after that and folds to me. I announce ALL-IN because asian woman probably has a pair of jacks and old dude doesn't seem strong. old dude folds. and my QQ holds up against her qj offsuit.

A little later (I have about $600) the whole table limps to me and i have AA again in the BB. I just make it $20 to go and the same old guy from the previous hand calls. he open shoves like $130 on a t92 board with 2 spades and i obviously call and hold vs his Q6of spades.

Other than these standard hands there were alot of hands i just ****ed up once it got pretty deep because i just started playing ridiculously scared. like limping AQ and calling 2 streets on AAxx board where kicker was obviously good and not getting good value. another hand I limp AKs and win a $80 pot vs At which should have been a $200 pot if i didn't play like a freakin mouse.

anyway it was a good learning experience. later on (hour 11 of playing and 30 hours awake) i end up playing sort of crazy with this lunatic at my tables. he straddles and pays me off with 68 vs my J8 on a JJ6 board and i scoop a $400 dollar pot. I give all that away though when i later overplay q5cc on a kc4cqs board losing to a set of 4s for a $300 pot (allins on flop).

In the end I cashed out at about $770 after playing a pretty reasonable game for like the first 8 hours except for my play in some of the deepstacked pots was way too nitty.

au revoir.

Because even with reasonable poker skills you could have made a lot more than $720 in 11 hours. Some dude did more than you in same time in NL25.

hahah i know alot of online players play higher and play better and what not but i'm just saying for an average player like me live is freakin awesome! and i had never seriously played live before so it was interesting to experience the dynamic. especially when i only play SH SS NL online.

i can't be sure but with the 2 decks and the shuffle machines it goes at a pretty
good cut I'm sure at least 30 hands per hour if not more. I'm guessing 400-500 i think but not sure.
