I recently moved from San Francisco, CA to La Paz, Mexico and am taking a life shot at being a pro.

Starting January 7th, I want to get a baller pad here in La Paz, Mexico and make it a poker house. Since most of you are all talk and no walk, I don't think my chances of making this happen are very high, but it is definitely worth it to me to have a go at it.

Here are some links to 3 I can see available right now. I will be looking for more in the mean time. I am looking for 1 or 2 other poker players who would be willing to come here for 2-12 months. My plan is to get one with a yard and put a gym there as well so if any of you want to get in shape at the same time it would work out well.

Some things you'll want to know:

Pros

*Internet is as good as in the US. I currently have 4 mbps DSL which works perfectly. Megacable is planning on offering 10 mbps starting January.

*SkyTV (a satellite TV service) carries every sports package for every major sports team in the US.

*Food and Beer are roughly 50%-75% cheaper than in the US.

*La Paz is a major city with about 300K - 400K people. There is every major amenity you need here including very good and very cheap doctors, dentists, orthodontists, pharmacies and chirorpactors. Walmart, Sams Club, Burger King, McDonalds, Applebees, Ace Hardware, Movie Theaters (English with Spanish Subtitles, Casino, Cafe's with Wifi, Malls, Office Depot, Radio Shack, etc - you get the idea

*Maid and chef service run me $40 per week for 2 visits of wall to wall cleaning and cooking for every meal.

*The beaches here are rated as some of the best in the world. Fishing is some of the best in the world too.

*2 hours from Cabo San Lucas

*$100 dollar ferry ride takes you and your car to mainland Mexico to drive the Pacific Coast (Mazatlan, Puerta Vallarta, Acapulco, Nayarit) which I fully intend on doing more than once.

*Beachfront bars, clubs, restaurants, waterslides, etc. down a 4 mile strip of coast.

*Women - like omg, wtf, so many.

Cons

*English is not spoken here as frequently as I expected (could be a pro if you intend on learning a foreign language).

*You have to learn a new money system.

*Its hot as ****. - Winter though is supposed to be between 75 and 85 every day.

*If you are white, you are a minority and you stand out.

This is so awesome. Something I've always wanted to do. Currently my 25NL wouldn't support this but if I move up the limits fast enough... I'm set for Jan 7th. Tempting... very tempting
