As chance will have it, I have a pocket 6's story as well! It's several years back; I think I've played poker for a couple years, but basically only tournaments. This was one of my few live cash game sessions though.

So, I was dealt pocket 6's in the BB, and UTG announces and makes a blind min-raise, i.e. without looking at his cards. There are like 3-4 callers, and for some reason I fold! I actually don't know why, but I passed on this obvious set-mining call. The flop comes A6x, and I double facepalm myself, realizing I just made a horrible blunder. They proceed to check it down until the river, which brings a 2nd Ace. UTG says he has to bet now, and does. Everybody folds, and he shows A6! This made a full house for the guy, but would have given me an inferior full house! My horrible blunder ironically ended up saving me a ton of money. The dude on my left obviously would have stacked me had I not mucked my cards pre, and he would have won all my money.

Interesting, right? What is your most memorable poker hand?

One time I was dealt the jack of clubs and as i peeled it up it exploded and blew my hand off. Luckily the next card was the 5 of clubs and it was a doctor and reattached my arm right there and then at the table. Phew!

After all that died down that I limped in and made a flush, winning 7BB. Great day

flop 4 6 T rainbow three people in the pot. it went bet(66), raise(KT), call(??), jam(66), call(KT), call......with A8off suit. this was this guys first time playing poker i can only imagine he wasnt drunk or anything but he just had no clue how to play. of course a 7 and a 9 peel off and A8 hits his backdoor straight.

Hi OP I have a pocket 6's story too. It may be related to yours.

I was playing in a rigged game and we set up these suckers to lose with a flush and underfull to my sixes full. On the flop my dealer gives me a peek at the turn and wtf its the case 2. I showed my set to make the 2's fold, sucker never found out.

I had pocket sicks and I got re-raised. So I asked villain how much he has left? Villain replies: "About tree fiddy." So I showed him the sickes and he folds quad 2s face up.

So I was playing this weekend and had a hand that made me think of this fred:

The guy on my left turns up his cards to reveal a set of 2's and lays them down. I double facepalm myself, realizing I just made a horrible blunder. The turn is the 2 of diamonds. This makes a flush for the guy still in the hand but gives me a full house, and thus I win the hand. My horrible blunder ironically ended up saving me a ton of money. The dude on my left obviously would have called had I not shown my cards, and he would have won with quads.
