Hello everyone,,
You know I had almost the exact same thing happen to me preflop this week with my KK vs. 99 (I covered both suits). I looked it up and 4-5os with 1 covered is in slightly better shape than the 9's were!
I guess the lesson is if you're going to gamble for 200bb preflop you might as well smash the connectors - especially suited!
It is ridiculous though that the covered suit is the one that smashed you lol.
Edit: The guy flopped his set of 9's - no waiting for him. The board was A-9-10-J-7 by the river though and this guy had tanked for a while before calling so it was pretty clear I had lost it was just a matter of how exactly haha.
Hi I've played poker for a couple years now, have seen a number of cool things take place. I'll tell you about the most memorable hand I've played in.
So, I was dealt pocket 6's. A third 6 landed on the flop, along with a 2 and a Queen. A few bets are placed, and then one dude raises by going all-in. I call. There's another guy left in the hand who has his cards covered. I don't see him. I turn up my cards revealing my set of 6's. The guy on my left turns up his cards to reveal a set of 2's and lays them down. I double facepalm myself, realizing I just made a horrible blunder. The turn is the 2 of diamonds. This makes a flush for the guy still in the hand but gives me a full house, and thus I win the hand. My horrible blunder ironically ended up saving me a ton of money. The dude on my left obviously would have called had I not shown my cards, and he would have won with quads.
Interesting, right? What is your most memorable poker hand?
At the Venetian 2/5 I was dealt an Ace, then the second Ace I was dealt kind of skipped over the button, nobody saw it',' but the dealer claimed part of it flashed so she took it away and gave me a new card. 2 players before me ended up in for $500 each before the flop both with Queens.

I had something similar at a 2/5 game. Dealt first card on the button and it was an ace. Dealer flips the second card which was an ace. Gives me a K instead. Folds around to me and I raise. SB reraises. I lol fold. He shows KK. Would’ve been AA vs KK with a K as the burn card.
I was playing blackjack the other day and got a "5 card charlie" and didn't get paid
(tbh my today was 14 and the dealer had 20), but still, what's up with that???
Years ago I was playing 1/2 and got it all in with 88 on a 8d6d6x flop against 97dd and the board ran out the other two sixes and I lost with 8 hi against 9 hi.

Then the majority of chips are split, the 2 remaining 6s are removed and the last 3 were just split as well. After all of the remaining chips are separated the majority of chips are destroyed and the hand is a draw.
Interesting, right? What is your most lopsided bet? What does this tell us about poker?
I had a company where we had an offer from two of the biggest streaming platforms to provide technology services to them but I could only sign the deal with one company cause of non-compete terms. I chose the deal that would be easier for my team to make happen on the tech side and then about 6 weeks later that company blew their next round of funding and laid off 30% of their workforce, including my counterparty, the entire team we were working with, and the corporate development people who we'd done the deal with. 2 years later we were out of business and our lone competitor in the market who'd made a deal with the other company got acquired by them for $110 million. Probably the worst beat anyone on this forum has ever had in terms of $. 9 figure flip lol. Upside is it's pretty much impossible for me to tilt at poker now.

Have JJ, raise pre and go 5 ways
Board QcJcJx Tc Qx
Checks around flop and turn. On river SB leads 3/4 pot 75. 3 ways I'm beat for the bad beat jackpot. If not at least I can make it 575 and he has to call with Qx. I raise he folds
Last night. Had toronto/Detroit o217 last leg of 8 team parlay for 4 btc. 164 points in the first half, 77 in the second. 77. Quite possibly the lowest scoring half of the year. missed by six points.

Ughhh, that is a brutal one. Had to be so frustrating seeing all those shots missed after the super high scoring 1st half.
