Rounders part 1 cracks me up, watched it about 10 times, i dont have a good knowledge of fgators but it was great.

Do you ever find the hassle of the production side of things spoils the fun of the comic idea you had in the first place?

Yes, this happens pretty much every time. The concepts amuse me from the time I brainstorm them, up until about halfway through production. By that point I'm burned out on the humor of it. Few things remain funny when you've seen/heard them dozens of times within a few days. After that, most of the enjoyment is derived from seeing peoples' reactions.

One exception to this is when I was working on the video side of Black and Yellow. The idea to make it look like Prahlad is rapping came to me at the last second, and I had a blast making it sync together.

Would be nice if they had some software which would just produce and gift wrap your creative thoughts eh haha.

Mostly experimentation. It's not very complicated. The first animated gif I ever made was many years ago for a dumb website called ytmnd. I wanted to sync a bunch of still pictures with a song, so I downloaded some crappy gif animation program and learned the concept of frames. I used Audacity (a sound editing program) to measure sections of the song precisely, down to hundredths of a second, and timed each frame accordingly. It came out rather nice.

Some years later I decided that I wanted to try my hand at making cartoons, so I downloaded Adobe Flash. It's somewhat similar to doing animated gifs, so most of it came naturally, though I did have to read a few tutorials to learn about tweens and such. I sunk a lot of hours into lip syncing and made some painfully unfunny cartoons. When I started making stuff for 2+2, I actually had to create a new YouTube account because I didn't want anyone to see them.

My familiarity with Flash translated well to video editing in Vegas, so there wasn't much of a learning curve there either.

Somebody posted a thread in NVG with one sentence and a link to a New York Times article. NYT has this archaic login requirement to read their articles, which is completely ******ed in this day and age imo. It's also stupid to try to have a discussion on a messageboard where half the users can't read the article. So I facetiously "assumed" based on the thread title (that was something to do with poker botting) that the thread was about an impending Cylon threat. I hijacked the thread and kept talking about Cylons and posting pictures of them. NVG mods, who are particularly vigilant (somewhat understandably), were not impressed.
