plus, running at 10ptbb/100 at 10NL would net you $2/100, 8 tabling that'd be $15/hour

I would be absolutely shocked if there was an easier way to do this

Grando --

I can't use my FPPs.

I might return to micro-NL later. Right now I think SNGs are somewhat better because the variance is smaller and I'd have to make adjustments playing on a $140 bankroll. Also, I played a couple thousand hands of $.01/$.02 earlier and part of the challenge here is fighting boredom.

14 BIs is good for SNGs?

tbh it's probably sufficient for $11 regulars -- you are going to have to have some risk of ruin at some point in this bet or you aren't going to finish in time (unless you can just put in a shitton of hours).

i'd even go with $10 HU turbos. if you're good enough HU you could just stick to that all the way throughout and just move up as bankroll permits. variance might be a little worse though.

I'm not comfortable playing $10s yet, what with the availability of other SNGs and the softness of the smaller SNGs. Although 10-buyin downswings are pretty significant if not very rare at SNGs.

oh and you cant play more than a few at a time. on second thought, id just stick with the single table SNGs

2nd in all three SNGs. Many surprisingly decent players/multitablers at all three tables.

Up to $169.63. Time for a mid"morning" break.

this is pretty awesome. been trying to rebuild a roll lately after needing to withdraw + sick 200BB downswing, so I am very interested in how you approach this. I'm rooting for ya!

I find the 15+1 turbos on stars incredibly soft, a few multitablers but mostly horrible fish. Try em when you feel comfortable.

When I was broke I played a lot of the $10, $20, and $30 Regular Speed SNGs

At the $10s, playing 10 at a time, even with some rust, 25% ROI is attainable and after I got good at them I was crushing at like 33% over a few hundred.

at 1.5 hrs per set, 25% roi is $16.67/hr

In my brief experience and limited sample, $15 Horse turbos are just incredibly easy. This appears to be for two reasons:

1. No one can play Horse.
2. No one understands how a limit structure affects STT strategy.

Been a while since I felt this much pressure playing for $20; I'm heads-up in a (non-turbo) 45-man SNG.

Yikes. Good thing I'm running well generally at the moment (after a hilarious $15 downswing at $.05/$.10 NL).

UPDATE: 2nd. No complaints.

***END OF DAY 4 UPDATE***

Account balance: $184.37

Good results today, but maaaaaan, I almost blew it wide open. I was in the money in a Razz tournament, and bigstacked in several multitable $5 SNGs, but blew out in all but one. Fatigue, maybe?

Summary:

Tournaments -- Slightly down.
Micro-stakes NLHE -- Significantly down.
Heads-up SNGs -- 13-2 in the morning, something like 13-4 overall. Yesssss.
Single-table SNGs -- Up a little, maybe? Maybe more?
Multitable SNGs -- Up significantly.

Chat of the day comes from an obeserver of one of my $6.50 HU SNGs. Note that this guy is just a random dude who hadn't played against me or anything.

Nate - are you going to add any x/180's to your rotation? Or stick with the smaller SnG's?

All --

Thanks for the interest. I had a 4.5-hour, +$6 session in the early morning. Then Stars had a server restart and flat shut down for a few minutes after, and I took the opportunity to enjoy some coffee and finish Pride and Prejudice, which was awesome.

Then I ran bad, like -10 buyins at $5 SNGs as well as other assorted losses, but after winning a couple multitable SNGs:

I'm at $173 + roughly $50 in current equity.

I'm likely to play a few 4/180s, particularly if my preferred SNGs are slow filling up in a certain time period / I bust from a few / I need to mix things up for psychological reasons.

--Nate

EDIT TO ADD: The 20/180s are unlikely to be an efficient use of $20 at any point (unless I become highly risk-loving).

***DAY 5 UPDATE***

Day 5 doesn't end for another three hours, but I'm about to get some food, and besides, I just had a breakthrough. Let's hear it for multitable SNGs; I went on a big rush and...

Account Balance: $455.87

Game Results:

45-man NLHE SNGs -- +$300 or so
$3 Razz SNGs -- $12ish (100%ish ROI)
HU PLO8, other stuff -- -$45 or so
