Yeah, you gotta beat everyone and the puppet. Its what stops the game from ending as soon as only one person stays in.

and when the puppet scoops where does the $ from the pot go?

Whoever stayed in has to match it. So if there is 400 in there and only you stick, and the puppet wins, pot is now 800 plus new antes. Its really great when the puppet coolers everyone with aces or something (even puppets get aces LDO) and the pot quadruples.

urgh last time I played the pot was at 2k, I get deaalt aces and play, and that goddamn puppet folded his pocket 8s. good read u puppet.

a variation on this game:

-no puppet. players v players
-1 or 2 downcards per player. either works.
-players hold their cards out in front. 1...2...3...drop.
-drop if you want to fold. hold on to play.
-highest starting hand wins (obv w/ 1 card the As is a lock, 2 cards AA)
-better shorthanded. gamble with marginal hands can pay off if no one else holds their cards or you catch a "bluff" (someone hoping no one else holds on (bluffing usuall only comes into it when 4-5handed or less).

This does sound awesome. However, I wonder if some changes in the rules could make it even better?

How about if only 1 player stays in so he is HU with the puppet and he loses to the puppet he does not have to pay the pot, but he doesn't get to take the pot. It stays and everyone re-antes.

I think this may be a good rule to combat nitiness. People won't want to let someone get a freeroll with the puppet so they will in effect lower their calling standards.

Otherwise, it seems it would be best to play a pretty tight game since even if everyone folds you still have to beat the puppet or risk paying the pot. So I think this would loosen up the game even more? Thoughts on this? Good idea/bad idea?

Anyways, I can't wait to try this game out. We used to play guts all the time but this sounds even better.

quick update: with a 3 handed 1 dollar ante game AA, AJh and puppets Ah3 got it all in. puppets Ah3 4 flushed, and the pot has just broken 800. gogogogo

edit: 2 hands later the puppet runner runnered a straight on a flopped set and K8hh with 42dd, river a gutterball with the 5. pot has just reached over 2k and talks of bustoness loom.

Costanza flops a set 3 way with JJ on a Q 5 J flop vs A7 and puppets Q5. Turn is a Q. Costanza is going to kill himself. that is all.

costanza here, i just got dealt AA and scooped a $1300 pot.....back to not killing myself.

One of these clowns didnt want to buy out of this game......so we all played a $2700 pot....for some reason, the other 2 clowns decided that AQ and 77 were good enough to risk 20-30% of their rolls on against the puppets A5. Ofc, the board came with two 5s.

So now the pot is at like $8k....and they still wouldnt buy out. one still thinks KQ is good enough to play, and the puppet has AK ftw obv....but finally we get justice and a Q hits on the flop. GG this [censored] game.
