Vegemite is yeast extract and whatever magic koala extracts they put in there so quite different, especially since the yeast extract is just the flavor enhancer, basically mostly glutamate. Also the uses of these products seem quite different. Wikipedia says vegemite is similar to German Vitam-R I have never heard of my whole life

I haven't seen it in the convenience stores I've been so far but pretty sure they have it. Asians like everything soy. In HK it's prominently available along with like 20 other varieties of soy sauce usually.
