you're right that he has explained his reasons coherently, but i disagree they are explained convincingly.

If I played at your level I don't think I'd have a problem shelling out 2 or 3 big blinds a month to pay for my own food. Its good that you are frugal, but this is borderline miserly.

oh well...some are ******ed, some are smart and some eat out of dumpsters

I work at a supermarket (still at uni) and it is amazing how much we throw out each day. We throw out at least 3 dumpsters worth of food each day, most of it still perfectly good. We throw produce which is still good, perishable items which are still in date, and long life packages are chucked because the can has a little dint on it, or something spilled on the package.

We arnt allowed to take anything, not are anyone else. I beleive they should be donated to a shelter or some similar organisation.

However, dumpster diving is absolutely disgusting. I mean, its in a bin, once a packaged item has even slightly touched a bin, i shouldnt be eaten. ahh well each to their own.

To prevent this from happening, we now padlock the dumpsters lol suckers

awesome thread. I watched a tv show on this and most of the food they found looked perfectly fine to eat and in no way disgusting as you might imagine. Veganmav also explains himself well in this thread.
