It's not a whine. I am up quite a bit in my lifetime.
I am just curious of the math behind this. But there seems to be no intelligent answer to get here.

That's not a 'downswing', thats a standard day. Probability of that happening to you at least once a week if you are a serious player has to be >80% if that's what you are interested in.
