but why u still work? what kind of job u´ve, which is worth to get this hard schedule, i mean u can make obv a really nice lifing with playing poker + study, why u still work, i mean what u earn on an average job u can earn in 2 days of grinding with your skill and on this level/stakes u play...

i mean 40 hrs a week less would give you an a lot better lifestyle, u can have social contacts, gf, workouts, gym, party etc. and still have enough time tpo make your money w/ poker... this what i dont understand, i mean i make by far less then you w/ poker but i cant even motivate for an normal job when i see that i can make 5k/month with playing poker and chilling...

Why do you still work ? you must work with sick kids or something , what is your motivation to work ? when you could spend that time crushing at poker making 100x more than what you get paid at work ?

I have my job for numerous reasons. For one I really love what I do. My job gives me a lot of flexability. So far there I have worked in trading, development, and operations. Basically I am their swiss army knife type guy that does a little of everything and solves problems. It's interesting and fun. Ask anyone that has a real job and they'll tell you its very hard to find a job that you like, especially a good one.

I make a lot of money by normal standards at my job, with great benefits and they pay for my tuition+books 100% which is over $5,000 per class.

The people I work with are all surprisingly really cool. Everyone is very, very smart and that is the kind of environment I like to be in. It is also a very laid back atmosphere. I wear jeans to work every day, sometimes a track jacket. No one cares what you look like, it's all about how you perform, which I love.

When I first started making a ton of money at poker was right around the financial crisis. The job market was AWFUL and lots of my friends were looking for jobs or holding on to their current jobs. At the same time, the state of poker at that time was just as uncertain. I figured I would hang on to both as long as I could and figured one would weed itself out. Turns out I was wrong, haha.

Long term, poker is not my ultimate goal. Most people play poker for the freedom it gives them. But I feel free as well. I mean I don't have a ton of free time but because of what I've done the past two years I can basically do whatever I want for the rest of my life. I'll have a lot of money saved up, with a degree from one of the best MBA programs in the country and some excellent experience. The door is wide open for whatever I want to do. To me, that's freedom.
