the 1pound/2pound games that i've played in here in the UK are seriously like 2nl.

And the 2/5 pound games are even worse.

Just because your a nit that sits there wearing sunglasses and fiddling with your souvenir card protector that you bought at a market stall 4 years ago for $3, listening to Champagne Supernover that's stuck on repeat for hours at a time just waiting for Aces with fierce concentration doesn't mean everyone else is.

I got into it once with a guy at a 1-2 table once over set odds.

He raised the button with QQ and I called in the SB with 77.

Flop T72. I check, he fires, I flat.
Turn 2. I check, he fires, I raise, he jams, I call.
River Brick.

As I'm scooping he looks at me and says, "You had 2 outs".

I just looked at him with my best Phil Ivey/Tilly KK face and kept stacking. He then turned to the guy to his right and said, "The odds of flopping a set are 1 in 17...no idea how he got so lucky."

I bit my lip. Literally. I didn't want to get into this debate. I knew it would be a bad idea. He then says something like, "Actually it's 1 in 19 because we have 8 players not 9."

WAT.

Think, Think, Think...what am I supposed to do here?

Well, I tapped the glass and got into a 20 minute debate with this guy and even had to listen to him explain to me the equation of set odds. It lasted until I looked at the dealer and begged him with my eyes to help me out and end this cluster ****. He did. Thank god.

-Hand nicknames (i.e. Big Slick, Ducks, Rockets et al).
-Min-raising
-People who insist on shouting even though we're all 6 feet or less away from each other.
-The 3 minute fold with top pair on a 4-flush/straight board.
-People who always try to only show one card at showdown.

Oh, and any person without a medical condition that wears sunglasses indoors is a ****.

LOL @ the guy who gets tilted by fish berating fish. It's probably my favorite thing about live poker.

The weighted average fold-equity + suck-out equity against you outweights the times you will actually have it, imo.
I'd offer HU4Rollz to settle this as true babies but you're banned now.

Scoop the pot, agree with the fish. Proceed to flop yet another set, stack him again and let him believe he's unbeliveably unlucky instead of a bad player so keeps donating.

The funniest thing I think is when a donk will win a good amount and everybody immediately wants to sit in his seat when he leaves, when even with luck those people won't win a dime.

at this 1/2 game in niagara for the first time. friday night so lots of drunk and bad players. one kid in pokerstars jersey is the only one who seems semi competent, i have about 300 he covers

young kid opens for 8 in early pos, i raise to 28 with aq on the button, he calls
flop comes 1084 - he bets 15, i raise to 90, he tank calls
turn comes comes q - he checks, i ship 190 into 225 pot - he tanks forever and says "i hate to lose to ace high", i laugh - eventually he calls with jk saying "i have a bunch out outs" - he binks spade on river and fist pump ships - guy beside says "ouch, this kid has been doing this all night"

-i overhear him talking to old guy beside him - old guy says something about playing on the internet, young kid says "ya durrrr is bad, it's all about phil galfond, i study him blah, blah, blah" - kid now has about a 1200 stack

-we get moved to new table, me and the young guy and a bunch of old guys
-old guys say 'look at this kid with his huge stack and pokerstars shirt, must be a pro" - they continue to admire his stack and he sits there smilling like he is a pro - i just sit there like goddam, im stuck in the **** twilight zone, those chips should be mine

This has been happening to me way too often lately:

I 3bet someone with a premium, flop two pair or better, and he leads out into me 1/10th pot, I raise big. Turn is a blank, he makes another tiny bet, I raise big again, he flats leaving himself like an eighth of what he started the hand with behind. River is a mildly uncomfortable but otherwise doesn't really hit much of any range kind of card, he open-shoves, I call getting like ten to one, and it transpires that he hit some kind of gross four-outer/gutshot on me.

I don't really mind getting sucked out on all that much, honest. If we got it in the flop and he hit his miracle I'd just say nice hand and move on. But the process of someone min-betting and me raising big on two streets and then being forced to call a miniscule percentage of the pot on the river is so extremely painful, that I don't know how much more I can take of it.

I remember once when this guy tilted me so bad in a donkament, an active guy opens from the cut off to 3x, button folds, I have a tight image blinds/antes and I 3 bet shove from the small blind and my opponent tanks. At this point I just want a fold and have not gotten out of line at this table so it's fairly likely i'll get one.

Suddenly, noob to my left, who so far has bet out of turn, bet wrong amounts and other such basic mistakes throughout the tourney (not involved in this hand) looks at me for a second, smiles, and casually turns to villain and says "call.. go on.. I would in this spot! He's bluffing.. CALL!!!"

I feel my self get really angry but don't want to say anything or demonstrate that i'm upset with this guy trying to influence my opponent.. But i'm thinking SHUT UP FFFFFFUUUUUU! Luckily for him the guy folded, but i was about to have a helmuth blowout if my opponent called and i lost the pot.

-the NITTIEST players in the world
-bad breath players who constantly talk to you
-the people who shout while "talking" to you

FWIW he made a profitable call versus your hand. He has 34% equity and only needs 31% to make a call profitable

Players (usually old men) who shift seat position just to escape the blind for 2 or 3 more hands at a 1-2 table.

I had this happen in a ring game. Villian did call, I had overs and a flush draw and got home. If I didn't I would have gotten up and KO'ed the idiot. The other guy was pissed and left.

I never went to that casino again, when I told the dealer that dude shouldn't have said anything, he leans over as to say it so dude cant hear, "I don't like that **** either" Wat? Seriously? You don't warn him, or anything?

i dark check a lot in the blinds and i openly say i have no clue what im doing. i usually wouldnt lead out in that spot anyway, so i dont give myself a chance to. is it a terrible play? more than likely, but im no pro

when someone has a gutshot for a str8 flush and says, "I had a huuuuuuuge draw"

When someone says, "on flop I thought my pair was good," then proceeds to turn set, "but on turn, I wasn't confident in my set."

Yeah but what were his odds when he called the re-raise on the flop?

when someone asks if i would have made the same call, if they would have bet more.. I just give them the death stare, and say "probably not", just so they shut up.
