About 4 years ago, when I just started going to the Borgata on a regular basis, I didn't know many of the regs there and mainly played $1/2.

I did recall one guy from a few other times I seen him, I'll keep his name out but he's a Russian dude from Brooklyn (I know some of you frequent the Borgata) and we played a pretty long $1/2 session of about 5 hours.

Long story short, I was up to about $1100 from a $200 buyin, he was down about $700ish just from me. And when the game dried up, I decided to do a $120 SNG's and left.

As I get up, he asks me where I am going, in this angry, russian accent.. I tell him. He promptly gets up and follows me to the SNG table.

I draw a 3 seat, he draws a 1 seat. At this point, not only am I dieing laughing inside that this guy is mad enough to stalk me, but now I have position over him.

So anyway, 10 minutes later, and about 4 hands in - I look down to AK @ the SB. I make it 150 to go after folds all around, and he firmly says RRRAISSE, and throws in a 500 chip. Its HU now, and I simply shove.

He snap ninjitsu phil hellmuth chip punch calls and shows Queens. had no idea why he didn't raise it preflop, but now I know that he does crazy crap like this all the time.

Needless to say, I turn a king and he is busted.

After some muttering in russian (which I understood, since I am also russian) he asks me if I will be staying at the poker room. I tell him yes.

I ended up bubbling or coming 4th or something in that SNG, but a few hours after that, I'm at the $2/5 and here he comes, with a fully loaded tray of red chips. Sits down and gives me this evil smile.

After a few hours, we didn't really get into any pots together (although he tried reallly bad) and he eventually calmed down and stopped stalking me.

Fast forward to today, and we talk whenever I come down there, he's actually a cool dude.

But yea, anyway, some of the regs. in AC are friggin nutcases.

As far as the things that people do that tilt me.. There are tons, but here are a few:

1. Slow rolling - If you got the damn nuts, stop being an immature jackass and show your hand.

2. Flipping one card at a time - I'm glad the Borgata started to finally enforce this rule in tournies and cash. It is so damn annoying.

3. Lessons at the table - This isn't blackjack. I don't care to know if I should split 9's against a dealers 10. If people want to flat a large 4bet w/ A8o OOP, then god bless them.

4. Crappy dealers - Now the dealer quality has definitely gone up over the last few years, but it's still apparent. Dealers who deal so slowly you could of gotten up, took a dump, came back and still not get your card @ a the btn. Dealers who try and deal so fast that they turn over at least one card every 5 hands. Dealers who do not know simple math and just completely shut down when there is a side pot involved.

Since this thread is about what ticks people off -- let me ask this here. I'm trying to avoid ticking folks off.

I've gone to the casino with my dad a few times, we usually play at separate tables to remove the issue. For my brother's bday we're going down to Vegas and my uncle voiced that he would be really interested in playing a lot of poker with me. He's not the kind that would want to hang out at separate tables, and the money is fairly significant to us as we're just students with no hard and fast bankroll.

Long story short I don't want to stack my uncle. At some point in 10+ hours of poker I'm sure we'll be in a pot together -- at the low limits will folks really care if we soft play a bit? Last time I saw a guy with his girlfriend play and they clearly are going to soft play each other. We're both very much against collusion.

Current plan was just to try to sit across from each other to remove blind fights while not hiding the fact that we came in together. Is there anything wrong with telling him "I've got the nut flush" when we start pumping heads heads up (assuming I really do, and then show the table)?

Worst comes to worst I guess the winner buys lunch.

A lot of people here won't like this; but most people at a 1/2 game don't care/don't realize why they should care about people soft playing. I wouldn't announce your hand though. Either check it down or agree before hand that if one of you bets in a heads up pot then you have it. You will probably won't to play pretty straight forward in multi-way pots though.

When I fire 2 barrels, and villain calls flop and turn, then i make a bad read and give up on the river, and villain reluctantly turns over his bottom pair, looking defeated, and when i muck he declares "I knew it, i knew you were bluffing" so proudly and bobs his head while scooping the pot like he's Phil Ivey. Can't stand that $hit.

nope never soft played for a friend. I don't like to play at NL tables with any friends for this reason. I would play limit because hard to soft play on those tables. Old home games that I played in were loaded with friends and that case soft playing was pointless, so can't say I did.

the woman that has a HUGE diamond that playes on hubbys money that cant stop talking about why she playes hands the way she does and basically tries to get everyone to think she knows what she is doing EVERY ***** POT.....

if you play at tulalip in washinton you know this woman, around 40 yr old blonde with nice skinny body/face in the 2-3 and red chip game more recently.

also Mr. lee and all his nut huggers tilt the fk outta me.

the ugly fat slob wearing sunglasses that constantly talks about his beach properties in the 50$ mtts and takes 2 mins each time he decides to put a chip in.

also i mega tilt when someone trys to show one card to win against me in a ***** pot. TAKES TWO CARDS FACE UP TO WIN A SHOWDOWN U CLOWN. flip that duece over already, your ace is good thats why i checked the river behind with my KK.

lol one other thing that i almost cant handle. GUY STARING ME DOWN IN THE ***** 200nl game. dude im drunk and 100x better than you + i know your two cards to the suit. just put your 22$ in the dam pot, your not gonna read my soul. you are wearing an old tshirt with stains on it and havnt brushed your teeth in 2 weeks. you have no idea what life or poker is about but for some reason you think your gonna get a read on me when im just sitting there wishing i never started playing this stupid game

I'm with you about the headphones and not wanting to talk to someone; but the last thing I want to talk about at a poker table is poker. The average villain talking about poker is going to spew horrible logic and bad beat stories.

Last time I played I had some ****** tell a story three times about the time e folded 92off only to see a flop of 999. 2+2 is for talking about poker, the table is for talking about sports/the hot waitress/anything but poker.

Anger encouraged.

Ok I'll start.

1. People taking ages to make trivial decisions. OMFG JUST FOLD OMFG.

2. People who get raised, look at their cards and hold them horizontally on the table. THEY FOLD EVERY ****ING TIME. BUT IT TAKES THEM 1 MINUTE TO MUCK THEIR JUNK. Then they say, "you had me" and flip over a junk ass hand.

3. Slamming the table. One fish last night every time he checked he would tap the table. Fine. Except he slammed it making the whole ****ing table shake. Omg that tilted me so hard.

4. People who prematurely scoop the pot. Fish raises, other player calls. Fish flips over TPWK and starts scooping the pot before other player shows his hand. The other player ALWAYS HAS A WORSE HAND WHEN CAN SOMEONE SHOW THIS GUY A BETTER HAND WTF HE KEEPS DOING IT.

5. People who stare you down for no reason. They have a crap hand facing your all in. They stare you down for 2 minutes. I pull faces at them. I think they must be fish thinking about calling with ATo or something and they flip over some ****ty insta fold hand. STOP WASTING PEOPLES TIME *******

6. People who know your bluffing. "I know you have nothing so I call" the donkey says flipping over 74 suited. WHAT THE **** ARE YOU CALLING YOUR TOURNAMENT WITH THAT HAND WTF. 74 cracks your 9T or whatever every time.

7. Trivial decisions taking too much time. I go all in as a shortstack on the button. BB is deepstack with 30bbs and takes about 3 minutes to call with 34s for an extra 0.5 bbs. His hand wins putting me on insta tilt. Lucky im out the game.

8. Same as 7, except the complete donkey is actually SEIROUSLY CONSIDERING FOLDING THEN HIS FRIEND SAYS "YOU MIGHT AS WELL CALL IT'S ONLY 0.5BB" By that point its too late to say STFU as the donkey makes the hero call. Nice play everyone says, tapping the table in awe of the ultra call.

Edit: I'm not really angry about these, most of the fish are just trying to have fun This is just what I think in my soul when I am on mega tilt.
#2. Seriously. I want to kick babies when this happens.

You know, I was thinking, if things that are going to happen at a poker table tilt you that much, perhaps live poker isn't for you.

The only thing that gets to me is poor hygiene/bad smells, and I just don't play that table if that situation exists.

you raise pre from lp, get called by the btn. cbet the flop and btn stares you down for 30 secs before announcing in a loud voice "RERAISE." this tilts me soooo much. I always feel like shoving it in and saying "RERERERERAISE ALL IN." also people who, when action is checked to them on the turn etc and they announce "RAISE." it's a good play against me I spose cos occasionally I will just ship it in out of spite.

One time there was this juicy deep stack table with mafia people raising and callig $100 blind (it was a 5/5 NL) and there was another one that had 5 old (avg age 89) short-stacker and one Jewish kid sitting on 3 buy-in's (who probably took all the fish out). Floor wanted me there to "balance tables". I insta-knew my options:

a) I am so much of a degenerate gambler with no pride or self-respect that I will contradict myself and sit at the table you tell me to, even if it means losing money or only winning minimum with the nuts everytime.

or b) I am here to make maney and if you don't have any space for me where I want, then I don't have to take the alternative. Your loss.

I told floor I will wait by the bar until putting me on the table I want becomes possible. After a few phone calls and showing of indiferrence, the floor puts me where I wanted to sit. No player had left or joinned either table. Sometimes in real life, you just gotta bluff.
Yeah I learned my lesson on that one. I get my stack destroyed by some nitty hit and runner while the biggest donkey in the casino raked in a 400 dorra pot with Q2o. Keep in mind all the money was in pre.

But yeah, I'll sit here at the table with a bunch of old squeezers.

Man so f tilt
