Yeah, that describes about 90% of the sessions I've played live.

Thinking dealers and floors can't play good poker because they work in a card room is like thinking a mechanic can't drive a car well because he works in a garage.

When I'm sitting in the 1 seat, the player in the 9 seat has made an action but I can't see because the dealer is obscuring my view and has made no effort whatsoever to indicate the action is on me.

Even though it's clear to everyone that I'm straining to look round the dealer in an effort to find out if the action is indeed on me, the dealer has a blank expression on his face looking way off into the room. Cheers bro.....

^ +1 but Villain flat barrels three streets. And you have to fold your ace high on the river to a 1/14th pot size bet.

Just say you call or push in your entire stack of chips and get on with it. Nobody cares that your knowledge of the rules are superior to everyone else's and your single chip constitutes binding action or whatever.
i don't follow.

player A goes all in

player B tosses 1 chip in the pot past the betting line.

that is 100% a call and unless your casino has some strange rules, you don't need verbal confirmation. you can instruct the parties to turn over their hands.

if player B then throws a hissy fit or something, call floor. easy game. no floor will interpret the chip tossing in the pot after the all in as anything other than a call. this shouldn't be something that is maddening to you as a dealer.

there's TONS of things that should piss you off as a dealer-> folks wearing headphones and being in their own world after having to constantly be told it's their action. i hate that as a player and would imagine it's super frustrating as a dealer.

there's TONS of stuff that also piss me off as a player, but nothing really tilts me (the literal definition of going off for bets i shouldn't be). stuff that i've seen in the past 2 weeks that has been extremely annoying:

1. people constantly changing seats for no reason at all making a musical chairs scenario every time a player leaves (especially if this confuses the person coming in from the must move or forces him/her to miss a free hand).

2. people getting into arguments about washing the deck. literally player A says "wash the cards pls", player B says "no don't do that, i don't want them washed." and then this turns into a delay of the game of around 2-3 minutes each time. so freaking annoying.

3. people being upset at me when i practice spanish w/ spanish speaking dealers. go f*ck yourselves, i don't do it during the hand.

4. players who think they're too cool for school at like 2/5nl (i played 1 session of 2/5 and there were 2 players at the table treating this game like it was the final table of the wsop me). this is just the most annoying thing. like dude, get over yourself. cards dealt-> glasses go on, chip protector goes over chip, hoodie goes up over their head. mucks hand-> takes hoodie off, takes glasses off. rinse repeat. really????????????

5. players who take WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much time to bet/raise. i mean i know i'm a bit annoying when i trow' some chips in not in perfectly neat stacks (i keep 8stacks of chips and slide the whole stack in since the borg chips don't cut easily. this is limit ofc), but to sit there and take up to 5-8 seconds to count out 3 stacks of 4 chips? seriously? time that out in your head. that's a LOT of time and a huge difference from the standard 1-2 seconds. at least SAY raise so the people behind you can act lol. i don't mind this if the person says raise and the next people can act. but when it holds up the action, very very annoying.

i'm sure there's more

1) Guy tanked to a $20 bet on the riv today

2) Action is dying more and more everyday (one 2/5 game and two 1/2 games running at 7 pm)

3) Seat 4 was sitting with his legs basically spread eagle, he was 350 pounds with gym shorts and an Eagles jersey with a moustache...a truly vile human

4) Dealers are always the unfriendliest people in a casino, if you hate your job please quit

5) 24 players played in the 7pm tourney and 6 chopped

6) Nobody protects their hand at all, I don't like to see your cards and will even tell people when I see them....when you do it over and over out of laziness I will take advantage of you

7) Pregnant cocktail waitress working in a smoking allowed casino

8) Not allowed to buy in at table anymore for first buy-in

Can't see myself spending a day off going to cards in a casino ever again.

First off, I never instruct people to turn over their hands (unless it's a tournament). If somebody wants to muck, I let them muck.

Second, anybody that's ever played more than a few times knows it's technically a call. Except for the angleshooter or grouchy reg trying to exploit the single chip rule. They'll throw a fit and make me call floor just as you described. They'll claim the chip just fell out of their hand, that they didn't see the action because someone was blocking their view, they didn't hear the dealer correctly (I heard you say 'five', not 'five hundred'), etc. Which now slows down the game, causes 50 people to all chime in with their 2 cents, and opens the possibility of some inexperienced floorperson getting duped by the angleshooter/reg.

If you intend to call, why are you even bothering to throw in a single chip? Just say the word Call or push the right amount out if you want to avoid a possibly confusing situation.

people that watch the main event final table as its goin on live and see players tanking when facing a 3/4bet preflop and see them take over a minute to fold a hand like 94 offsuit. they then come to a casino 1/3nl game and when there in the cutoff when its limped to them they sit there for a minute thinking with the dealer saying actions on you sir after 30 seconds and then decide to fold trying to act like king sh*t at the table thinking their cool. they then proceed to do this at least one hand per orbit until you call them out or start to make fun of them saying this isnt the tv table bro. a motherf*cking limped pot they do this **** in

The guy that feels it is his job to clean every chip he gets. It's not just that he is wasting time, it's the futility of it.

6. People not knowing their hand (actually happens at 40/80). Guy calls river bet w what he thinks is 2pr on a 4 flush board. Other guy has a set and thought he won. Dealer corrects player as player had a straight.....like....a hand where not only does he not have 2pr, but neither of his 2 cards are on the board. Player leans over to more closely inspect his upturned hand and the board and goes "oh, so I do. Thank you dealer". Lucky for the player he turned up what he thought was his 2pr.

What grind my gears on two plus two is writing a story and accidentally hitting the back button of my mouse losing everything I just wrote :@.

Here we go again. I'm not a live player but I went to a tournament in a casino not so long ago. Buy in was small, 30$. Mid tournie I call an all in on the flop with two overs and a flush draw (I'm not sure what I had but it doesn't matter really, all I remember is that I was ahead). Then the other dude who lost his stack to me is pretty mad, so I tell him I was ahead, thinking " what ya babbling about mong, I had you, get out.". So then all those tards at the table start mocking me because I say I was ahead. I was thinking : Do you even poker, you people acting all fancy with your chips trick you don't even know how to count odds, What the **** ? Then an old man who had been quiet all along say that I was right, and proceeds to explain them how I was right. Then the tards going full tards who labeled me as fish tell him that's not what I was thinking, that I couldn't think like that etc. Of course that's what I was thinking you ****tards. I didn't say a word in that and I knew those players were terrible and labeled me as fish even though I was better than them because I did some pretty wild stuff before that. In all honesty this table might have been the single place on earth with the highest concentration of misinformations about poker by people who think they know wtf they talking about. I've friends who don't know **** but at least they don't act like Hellmuth.

You already said more than you should of. Don't try to talk strategy at the table, especially at the smallest ever live tourney possible.

Live tourneys that are $35 + $10 rake + $5 dealer add-on (43% effective rake). 30 entrants, 8 way chop, and they expect you to tip.

Just can write a check to the house. Why even bother playing??

When people see the dealer's up card an Ace and get a Blackjack, almost instantly jump out of their seats and ask for even money.
