1/3 Nl 300 effective

On button with JJ 2 limps to me I open 15 one caller in BB flop comes j79 two diamonds v checks I bet 25 v calls, turn is a 7 v check i check. River is an 8 v bets 25 I raise to 75 he shoves all in covering me I snap he shows 77 for quads.. recently took a break from poker due to my last 6-7 sessions with hands getting it all in on flop on turn ahead of Villian 80-20 even more and losing as if I am flipping . I begin playing again this is my 2nd session back and this happens. Tired of saying to myself I played the hand right it’s just variance . Anyone have some comments or suggestions on how they deal with this.

It absolutely sucks, but it's just the name of the game.

Nothing you can do, you need to take the ups with the downs.

Try giving 'the mental game of poker' by Jared Tendler a read, it's good.

I recently ran a boat into quads twice in 2k hands online, it really sucks, but you just gotta take pride in the fact you played the hand well, it's just a bad beat.

Maybe try dropping down stakes, or even playing some small stakes online if you want to get your confidence back.

Thanks for the advice , not crazy about online so I just play live cash low stake 1/3. I don’t play scared or timid or worried about losing money but it’s literally been no exaggeration the past 7 sessions the 7th one just this story above to where I am so ahead and just losing , and I love the game of poker I’d play every day if I could it’s just I keep telling myself I played the hand good that’s just poker it gets tiring saying that as well as me losing my entire stack in 7 of those sessions totaling around 2500 dollars isn’t fun either

My advice is that the rake in live poker is prolly unbeatable. Playing smart poker with solid ranges will NOT beat that rake, imho. You gotta gamble to up your winrate wich actually reduces variance. Oh, and since this is BBV, everything I just wrote is prolly trolling and fake news.

You should make a poker variant where when there's an all in the pot is just immediately divided between the players based on their equity. It could be called Texas No more ****ing whiners in BBV.

10/10 advice

nah but seriously try changing location, i won 30 buyins in 15k hands on gg then lost 20 buyins in 3k hands back, probably 15 to bad beats but 5 to tilt. Moved back to stars and have been winning again.

change of scene really helps

What you need to understand is RNG's cannot randomise and therefore need to be programmed to even stuff out. That cannot happen in the short term so it will basically **** you over for trillions of hands making you lose lifetime purely from bad luck.

Here's half a decade's worth of all in pre flops in SnG's. As you can see the gap is ever increasing, showing that RNG's are not remotely random. The aliens in charge have already decided what will happen in your poker like, you have ZERO control.

It can go on for 5 years or more and don't think it can't, where the card that comes after the money goes in, turn or river, is the worst card that can possibley come for your hand so regularly that you can just call the card out loud with confidence. Not because you are psychic, but because the worst card possible is coming and you know what the worst card possible is (usually). (The 5 years cited is admittedly from part-time play and translates to about 1 year of full-time play.)

So no hand or even series of hands is a surprise, or unbelievable, or unexpected, but only this "got stuck for tens of thousands of hands" thing is. It's actually more about your relationship to your life and the universe than it is about rote odds. The deck is part of the quanta. And "it" knows all (not the deck, the quantum field).

Hope that clears things up and helps.
