A Tale of Two Backdoor Blinds

So this past week I was playing with my poker buds at our weekly home game and two particularly odd and humorous hands happened.
After about two hours I am in the BB and the pot is limped around to me with three callers and the SB, so I check my cards and find a whopper with 9s3h and, as you do, checked my option, intending to check-fold with anything less than a highly improbable two-pair. The flop comes down AT8 rainbow and everybody checks around. The Turn comes a 7, the SB and me check, the pre-flop opener bets, a fold, the BTN and SB call and remarkably I've back-doored a strait draw with the right price to call. The River comes a…J! and I've somehow stumbled my way into a J-high strait with 93o. I bet, the pre-flop opener raises me, everyone else folds, and and I call him. He turns over A's and J's with a big smile which only deflates when I showdown my all-mighty 93o.
The very next round I'm back in the BB and it once again limps around to me (the SB completing) and I found the allmighty 7s2s in my hand. I remembered Christ Ferguson bluffing off Mike Matusow big on PAD reruns with this very same hand, and with that strange "this could be it" feeling in my gut, checked my option. The flop comes Kxx with two diamonds and one spade (sorry, I don't recall the other two cards) and its a free-card to the Turn. The Turn is…another spade! SB checks, I check, UTG+1 checks, BTN bets. If at least one more player stays in to see the River I now, rediculously, have the right price to try to draw another spade. The SB folds, I call, UTG+1 calls, CO folds and we're off to the River! The River card is…a spade! lol I bet, UTG+1 folds, BTN pauses, looks me over for a moment, calls and immediately turns over KK's. I sheepishly turn over my 7s2s and, since everyone at my home game saw Ferguson bluff Matusow only a few days before, pretty much the whole table but Mr. Kings burst out laughing, who had nearly the same sheepish look on his face as Matusow. I jokingly inquire if we should have our own 72 bounty that night (an offer which was, strangely, not taken up by any of my companions).
After that, I got almost no action whenever I was in the BB the rest of the night, just picking up the SB, with plenty of jokes about respecting my 83's and 32's.
