Reading this thread makes me really happy I chose to join Stoxpoker and not Cardrunners. Great month, Dusty!

apparently it's easier to criticize... my stoxpoker decision was easy... acer comes across badly here... CR as a whole shouldn't be criticized tho...

Dusty is table selection really a huge part of your game when you are getting in 150k hands a month? It seems like you must be playing at less than ideal tables a fair amount just to get that many hands in.

I do what I can, but you are right in that I am often sitting in a table or two or three that isn't that good. A lot of people think that my high WR is attributable to good game selection, but at the same time that I will admit my game selection is strong, I am also ten tabling which is definitely a WR killer.
I game select well only in that I won't sit if everyone is a pro or the only spot is like 1/3 stacked and I would be OOP on him. Sadly, the games are very tough at 10/20 and up. Even the spots are often not really that terrible. If there is a player that has at least 1/2 a buy in at 10/20 or 25/50 and he isn't a pro, I will generally sit. So if that makes me a game selection nit then so be it. I just feel like I have better things to do with my time than pass money around with a bunch of other pros and pay rake while I do it. I have no idea why people do this. I often hear from them that the reason is that they want to play against the best to improve their game. I have played tens of thousands of hands with most of the best players in the world and have learned from them, but I just make sure a fish is there. You don't have to play only against the best to challenge yourself against the best. Anyway, that's my little rant on that.

Frankly, I have no idea how you're going to try and play the ME without having a meltdown over being dealt 25 hands an hour

Nice post Good2CU.
Also, since when did game selection become a bad thing? I must have missed something.

I don't really mean to criticize Cardrunners as a whole. But, LA is doing a much better job of properly representing Stox than Ace is doing for CR. I'd rather spend money with a company with friendly empoyees/instructors than abrasive, arrogant ones. It doesn't matter if I'm buying poker instruction or anything else. Ace comes off bad here and makes CR look bad by association.

I didn't know Ace was an instructor at CR. What's his real name?

"It just reads like immaturity to me. In a few years many of the guys who bag on you today will probably email you privately and apologize." Ed Miller on stoxpoker. I tend to believe that this guy know what he's talking about, for one reason or another. LOL

I stand corrected. He apparantly is only a blogger there. I've seen him post a few times in the cardrunners forum and assumed his screenname meant more of an association than it does.

Re: TAG's Can Run Good Too! Nearly $100k in June at 5/10
I have posted so many different screen shots in this thread and I am about to leave to go to Stoxtrader's house for a week, so I thought that since I won't have access to my computer for awhile, I would just post the total screen shot for the last 12 months ish. I used to be somewhat guarded of all the numbers and whatever, but everyone I play against knows me by now so I don't think it will hurt me. Also note that about 500k of these hands at at 3/6 and below. Anyway here it is....
[IMG] [/IMG]
Here is the graph. As you can see there is a lot of funky variance in there. Crazy stuff.

I tried to get as many of my main games as possible in the PT screenshot, but it doesn't let you display all 45 levels...lol.

try grinding .5/1. seriously $1k is a lot to most people. I'd honestly be very satisfied making $250k/yr at 5/10 and i'm sure 90% or more of the population would be too.
and LA made over a mil in 12 months. i'd say 99.9% of people would be just fine with that.

Ive always just thought of Ace as a CR member and not a CR pro. Hes never made a vid so no reason to see him as anything other than just a member imo.
