Thanks everyone, I will try and post some side stories on here that may not go in another book such as the last one I have written, but I appreciate anyone that buys a copy!

Hey man, long time - send me a message when you get a chance. I have sold around 100 copies so far, I haven't promoted it outside of this forum though.

Shameless plug, my sister is coming to Vegas next week and was wondering if anyone has any comps they're not using. I can offer a signed copy of my book in return for the favor.

I still count on finishing my untold series I've just been really busy doing two different jobs.

I apologize in advance for any misspellings or syntax errors, I did this using talk to text on my phone as I don't have a desk at the moment to properly type on a computer.

Halfway Crooks, Part 2

June 1st, 2017 - Cape Coral, Florida

After my experience with Ken, I dealt with a number of rough months in my life as I was making so little money and the quality of life was diminishing down in the Cape. We had a friend of Debbie's family renting out one of the rooms in the house I lived in with Nicole and her daughter, and this person had decided to leave suddenly while we had all gone on Thanksgiving vacation. They had also owed Debbie about $5000, and she was pissed. In her typical illogical fashion, she decided that I had to cover the amount she was now missing out on. I never was told any of this first hand, it was always Nicole telling me what her mother said. I continued to pay the regular amount and just figured she would come to her senses and understand I was not going to pay for some stranger's cost to live there. I don't know how I had gotten myself into this situation and really had just had enough. When Debbie was in a maniacal mood she would take it out on Nicole, who would in turn get pissy with me and it was just going on and on for months.

That afternoon Nicole had been lying down because she was feeling sick and woke up to a call from her mother. They were arguing about something that was probably not that important, but I had been sitting at my computer writing and it was killing my concentration. I decided to go in the bedroom and tell her that I didn't want to deal with the petty things that her mother was getting on her case for and told her to just hang up. A verbal argument ensued and I decided it was time to just pack my things and go. I have never been a physical person towards people especially not women, so when Nicole started to throw her fist in my chest and push me around I held her wrist to stop her. At that same point her mother decided to come over and argue with Nicole and found me holding her back. She decided that she needed to call the police and have them investigate When it happened. I've been pulled over about 30 times in my life, but I've never had the police called on me so I was really just looking to get a few more things and head on my way back to the area where my mom and sister lived. they went out to the back porch and start arguing with each other and I found it to be the right time to pick up my flat screen and put it in the back of my SUV.

As I was closing the hatch on my car, a Cape Coral squad car showed up and approached me asking for ID. I asked and the purpose of the call and said he was investigating a domestic assault. I have no record on file so I gave him my ID just to show him that I had no priors and was not looking to evade him. He told me to hang tight as most cops do when I want to call and I just hung out by my car and waited. About 15 minutes later the cop came back out to speak with me and asked me about the marks on her arms. I told him that I had held her wrists in self-defense and explained that she was the one to instigate violence. It was all becoming a classic Florida COPS episode and I was embarrassing myself as I was speaking to him. Before he had come back out I'd actually started live streaming on Facebook because I did not know anyone else in the neighborhood and could not get a hold of anyone in the area to keep this from being a two-on-one situation. I spoke to the cop and explained that I had never been accused or convicted of any physical violence in my life and was not looking to start that at this time, he seemed to understand and realize that it was a self-defense situation. He told me that I could go in and get things that I needed in one or two trips if I wanted to leave but I didn't have to leave. I told him I would want nothing more but to get the **** out. Debbie saw me with my phone recording and ordered me to stop, the cop had to explain to her that what I was doing was fully within my rights and was probably a smart idea. After about a half an hour I got in my car, headed north and let my mother know I was going to be staying at her place for the foreseeable future. A mixture of depression and anger overcame me during the drive as I was unsure what the future would hold and felt betrayed by Nicole's family.

As much as that is a humiliating experience, having a show up at your mother's apartment at 35 years old can be even more humiliating in some ways. I was stuck a solid hour and a half away from my plants and my business with very little prospects up in the Sarasota area. I dumped quite a bit of money into that business so my savings was low and I was probably 60 days away from going completely broke. My mom's place, although nice, was just a one-bedroom apartment and I slept on an air mattress in the TV room after she went to bed. I made a few phone calls, including to my friend that Ken Nicole and I had visited six months prior and he gave me the opportunity to sell off his collection in pieces. I took him up on the offer and managed to broker a few deals over to Dallas and some collections on the gulf coast to keep myself afloat for another month or two. In the meantime Nicole begged me to come back and I had no desire at the time to be in a hostile environment. Her mother was the one that had called the police and being a classic man hater she tried to convinced the cop I had assaulted her.

Around early July I had been doing nothing but playing in a few home games back in the Sarasota area and was trying to sell off my inventory from afar to a local nursery to keep the bills paid. I unexpectedly got a call from Ken saying that his client was coming up to the area to check out my friends plan collection and buy it outright. He also mentioned that there would be a job for me on going as this person wanted to build a private botanical garden. The sort of plants that I would be working with only about a dozen people in the United States have a good grasp on their value and know where to get the right plants for a client who didn't like taking no for an answer. It sounded like a dream scenario but I would have to see it to believe it. It would be two more weeks before I had the opportunity to meet Mr. T in person as I will refer to him on here.

This thread has made the worst week of work bearable. Just ordered the paperback this morning. My parents were snowbirds in Englewood, until my step father passed away. My old job relocated to Lutz. Had a chance to move down from upstate NY, but turned it down. Still kicking my self over that. Great read!

This thread was linked on another thread on poker chip forum.

I read it in a week and joined this message board just to get alerts.

Amazing read, and I don’t even play poker that often.

I just ordered the book on Amazon.

Thanks for the writing. It brought back memories when I lived in downtown Miami for 2 years.

Hey everyone, I obviously haven't posted here in a while and probably long overdue for an update. I moved back to Cape Coral right as the virus started to unfold. It's been hard as my mom is locked down in her assisted living facility and my sister works in the medical world and is 6 months pregnant. Her fiance is an essential worker too so my family is sort of separated from each other until further notice.

I got a hell of a deal on a Camry TRD when I traded in my Ridgeline and somehow haven't gotten any speeding tickets, the cops don't seem to be ticketing much these days. It's not the fastest car in the world but it handles on par with most sports cars.

Tim is still running an almost daily game because the local poker room shut down - he has about a dozen underlying conditions but he won't listen to me.

Nicole had pneumonia and I had to drive her to a Covid-19 testing station about 3 weeks ago, she's better now but she tested negative.

I should be writing more considering the time I have on my hands but I have been in a perpetual state of survival and making sure everyone has what they need. I really appreciate everyone who has supported this thread over the years up until now, and hope to continue it.

If anyone thinks a podcast or vlog would be of interest or add to the story, break some boredom I would be up for that too. I am not good at setting that stuff up but am open to talking about anything really.

Stay safe!

IDK if you know who dgaf is, but in the 2p2 world he's a minor deal. He has a daily pod, and with all poker shut down he he doing interviews daily. May be a good synergy between your two arcs.
