I'm sick and tired of this "OMG I GOT BAD BEAT, I HAD A POCKET PAIR AND ALL YOU HAD WAS OVERCARDS!"

Preflop, a pocket pair only has 2 outs to improve,overcards have 6! (This is not even taking into account straight and flush draws!) That means overcards are at least a 3:1 favorite to improve and win the hand. So stop whining morans.

Reading the OP was definitely one of my most important poker "epiphanies" back in the day that played a big role in helping me move up from 2nl to 5nl deepstacked. Unfortunately it's because of threads like this that everyone is solid now and poker is unbeatable.

When durrrr made his 50k hand challenge available to everyone except jman I just thought back to this thread and nodded my head in understanding.
