Steamrolling 1-2. Casino sending "hit men" to stop me

Basically I have been making my pre-flop raises to 35-40 in position and then c betting anywhere from 50 to 100 based on board texture, stack sizes of other players, etc. I have been running over the tables the past few days hardly having to show down hands and only calling down short-mid stack shoves when I catch a big hand.

I've noticed that the floor has reacted by filling my table with sharks that play 2-5, and 5-10 PLO, and guys I've never seen before that have deep pockets are willing to get it all in every hand that I'm in. I have walked away from the table each time one of these players shows up.

I've played at the casino for 3 months now, and just started to switch my strategy this weekend. I've made 800 in 15 hours of play this weekend and have noticed the entire poker room staff just freaking the hell out. I understand that my play is crushing some of the bad players there, but I literally see crazy players do this all the time.

I guess it doesn't help that I'm a young player in my mid 20's, but everyone is giving me way more credit than I deserve and acting like I'm some kind of poker pro that is just ruthlessly stealing from bad players. I only started becoming profitable after this weekend of play, before I was just break-even or slightly worse.

If this continues, I wont be able to play 1-2 anymore, and I know Im not good enough for 2-5. Any suggestions on how to proceed in this situation. Have been playing for about 3 months, and feel like Ive started to turn the corner in my game.

Why would any casino do that to a player? They have nothing to gain. Maybe better players have noticed what you doing and are taking advantage of the easy money.

Is this a level?

Edit: The OP started the same exact thread in the live low stakes NL forum and it was locked.

Re: Steamrolling 1-2. Casino sending "hit men" to stop me

Its not a level.

The casino would do this because Im crushing bad players with limited bankrolls. If I just gobble up all their chips then Im taking away customers.

I started this thread here since I have no idea why it got locked in the first place. In some ways I am discussing strategy on how to crush, but also wanted to learn from experienced gamblers why the casino floor is literally freaking the hell out over me winning. So bad to the point of dealers walking around bitching every 5 minutes when they see my stack and making comments how I'm "trying to empty everyone's pockets"

You admit you've been a losing player, now you're using hugely exploitable bet-sizing, and because you're experiencing positive short-term variance the casino is trying to screw you?

I'd say your thoughts are about on par with the decision to start this thread in three different forums.

Hey,

I am a 2 5 player, and I play in a relatively small room (around 10-12 total tables running on average). However, when I notice a 1 2 player sitting on a large stack (typically late at night) and making obscenely large raises, I come down for some easy $$$ as long as there is an open seat :-)

Re: Steamrolling 1-2. Casino sending "hit men" to stop me

Im perceived as a winning player by the casino since I usually cash out at the end of every session, even though I may have re-buyed a few times for that session. I am as shocked by it as you ntnBO, but its the reality of the situation.

If I was perceived as a fish, then I would be treated well by the floor staff, dealers, waitresses, since they know having a super spewy fish is good for the game. Everytime I start to run up a big stack, the whole room goes super cold on me and people start looking disgusted and envious. They all seem to think Im some kind of shark when I know I am experiencing positive variance.

As no one ever experienced this?

No, I've never heard of this. Whoever said it sounds like an underground casino is right.

Poker is a dynamic game. Eventually they'll adjust to you. If you refuse to play the 2-5 regs then there's not much else i can say. GL

Side note: Are you friendly at the tables? Do you consider yourself a good tipper?

This thread is a level or you're just delusional.

- Poker room staff doesn't really give a flying f how well you do or don't do.

- $800 in 15 hours this weekend isn't exactly crushing it.

- 20 bb opens are the reason bigger players are sitting down at your tables, not because the casino is trying to take you out.

I think you need to get a grip no one cares are your stack enough to make comments about it. Maybe lay off the bong before your sessions and you won't be so paranoid.

Re: Steamrolling 1-2. Casino sending "hit men" to stop me

I'll wait for others to chime in. Surely people can offer insight into there experience with certain players being hated by the floor.

Bwolf, initially I thought like you did and didn't think anyone gave a flying f about me. But, literally every staff member that walks by my table is always looking at my stack, visibly upset when I am doing well, and I also hear them talking **** at other tables.

I would say I'm an average tipper. Usually tip a dollar after every small pot, 5 bucks for every large pot. I can often be gregarious at the tables and can come off like a douchebag since I'm in my mid 20's and I am outspoken, but its usually more when I am stuck or even for the day, never when I am up.

I dress pretty well so I believe that people think I come from a super wealthy background, adding to the jealousy factor when I am winning from players who are degen and broke.

Dude, no one hates you. They want your easily exploitable money. Anyone that agrees with you is doing so just to mess with you, or they're the live grinders confirming your own ideas so that you don't change because they want your money.

Or you're a straight up forum troll, which is probably more likely given your attitude and posting numbers/style/start-date etc. If not, you have the most inflated sense of "the world revolves around me" attitude I'd seen in a while. No one is tracking your play. You are just like everyone else in the poker room.

Thread needs locked and is probably a level (still needs locked even if it isn't). OP has the same threads in LLSNL and BBV. The LLSNL thread got locked.

Why the F does thread need locked? I'm not leveling.

This is a legit casino, not underground. It's in the Midwest.

How come any other crazy degen gamble who sits down and starts going crazy, Ive NEVER seen any players from 2-5 join the table. Been playing for 3 months. Never ever ever once have seen 2-5 players coming into the game.

Normally, Im a tight payer that plays ABC. I just started to try out agro just to mix up my play and things started to "click" for me. Started to consistently build up my stack. Each time I start to get on a roll, all of the sudden players who NEVER play 1-2 are joining my table and looking over at me like they are there specifically to take me out.

I get it, they think I will spew away my chips since Im preflop raising super hard and overbetting the pot. But it still doesn't explain why these guys don't bumhunt other agro ******s who luck out and have huge stacks in front of them.

I'm in the same market as you I think. People DEFINITELY follow players around. Maybe you haven't seen it because your sample size is only 3 months. There aren't as many "agro ******s" doing what you're describing.

Depends on the size of the room.

If there are only two 1/2 tables and the room has trouble filling them, they might not like a player who increases variance in such a significant way. Especially if the majority of players only brings one bullet and leaves if they are felted.

That said, it's highly likely that the 2/5 players join the 1/2 game to take advantage of the massive spewer. I doubt management has anything to do with that.

I don't think that it's a far stretch to assume any room that has a regular 2/5 game going doesn't have a problem filling 1/2 tables.

If this isn't a level, your self image is incorrect. You think you are crushing 1/2, but it is clear to all of us that you're not. It is pretty hard to get exploited at the 1/2 level, however your aggrotard strategy is easily exploitable. Most of the 1/2 regs won't realize this, but the better players do.

The better players see you as a live one, its that simple. I am guessing your casino has some type of policy where you can buy in for half the biggest stack too, which would account for them moving after you run it up a bit.

Either way, you are attracting better players because against good opponents you are literally setting money on fire. The casino has nothing to do with this.

Re: Steamrolling 1-2. Casino sending "hit men" to stop me

The floor hasnt been seeking out 2/5nl and 5/10plo players to come teach you a lesson. If your table is filling up with those types of players, it's because they see a huge easy money mark and want to get some of your cash.

Think about it. No higher level player would be willing to waste their time in a 1/2 game just as some sort of favor to a floor. Picture a floor coming up to a guy playing 5/10 PLO with a stack of thousands and saying "hey, would you mind going over to that 1/2 game with maybe $1500 total on the table so you can hassle a guy overbetting? We want him to stop betting so much because most of the players with stacks between 60-200 dont like it. "

Get real. When you see good players lining up to play with you, it's not the floor's doing. It's all you, baby!

they don't wanna play you when you only have 200 but do when you're deep
it's not that complicated
